What is Statement and Assumption

Imagine you have a statement, Inside that statement, there are many
hidden ideas, things that aren’t said outright but are assumed to be true
for the statement to make sense. In simple words A “statement” is a
sentence that can be true or false. However, behind any statement,
there are underlying assumptions. Assumptions are implicit ideas or
beliefs that are taken for granted within the context of the statement.
They are not explicitly stated but are necessary for the statement to be
meaningful or valid.

Statement and Assumption Tricks


Here are some effective steps and strategies to solve statement and
assumption problems:

1. First, Read the statement Carefully and try to Clearly understand


what is explicitly mentioned and what is implied but not Mentioned.
2. Ask yourself if the implicit ideas are universally true or if there are
scenarios where they might not hold.
3. If dealing with multiple assumptions, use the elimination method.
4. Evaluate each assumption separately and eliminate the ones that
do not directly impact the statement validity.
5. Remember, An assumption is something supposed or taken for
granted.
6. Some assumptions might be essential for the statement’s validity,
while others might be unrelated.
7. choose the correct option by using assumptions which is granted

Direction (Q.1-63):- In each question below is given a statement
followed by two assumptions numbered I and II. An assumption is
something supposed or taken for granted. You have to consider the
statement and the following assumptions and decide which of the
assumptions is implicit in the statement.

(b) If only assumption II is implicit.
(c) Either I or II is implicit.
(d) If neither I nor II is implicit.
