1. Students can know the definition of theme in a poetry.
2. Students can recognize the function of theme in a poetry.
3. Students can recognize various themes found in poetry.

Theme Of Poetry
A. Theme in poetry is the main idea expressed by the poet in his poem.
B. Theme serves as the main foundation of the poet's poetry. This theme serves as the
framework for the development of poetry.
C. Many of the themes in the poetry are divinity, humanity, love, patriotism, struggle, failure,
nature, justice, social criticism, democracy, and solidarity.
