Introduction

The current assignment aims to highlight the advantages and disadvantages which has

been associated with a broad and balanced curriculum. Therefore, it also highlights the

foundation subjects of the students as well to provide first-hand information to the readers. It is

important to understand that the nature of creativity is vital in primary education. Therefore, it is

found in foundation subjects and RE. Moreover, it discusses the features of learning subjects in

the foundation and elaborates its strengths and advantages. It is important to present specific

examples to provide explicit information about the foundation subjects. Creative approaches are

essential for a clear elaborate and understanding of foundation subjects.

On the other hand, the current study also emphasises the benefits of the stories to enhance

the foundation subjects and RE knowledge. It also provides one activity to show the importance

of skills and capabilities required for the foundation subjects. The PowerPoint outline is that

there would be five slides that include visual representation related to the current topic, and it has

three parts. The first part is for the Introduction, the second part is the discussion, and the third is

the conclusion.

Strengths and potential issues of having a broad and balanced curriculum

The important part of providing effective learning is children with skills and

competencies that enable them to use themselves self-sufficiently and apply their information in

different situations. Therefore, a broad and balanced curriculum is used to determine the

relationship between prior knowledge and the new environment that underlines the importance of

creativity in developing successful students in primary education (Allen and Mehler, 2019).

Everyone has the creative or practical ability to combine two or more ideas to form new ideas. In

this way, successful students can be encouraged to acquire creative thinking skills and transfer

their skills to other subjects. The strength of broad and balanced curriculum is that it provides

students different skills and also provide adequate amount of knowledge. Another strength of

broad and balanced curriculum is that it provides students an opportunity to become a well-

rounded individual. The issue related to broad and balanced curriculum is that schools can failed

to co-ordinate in an effective manner in numeracy and other activities which can hinder the

progress of students.

Creative Learning in Foundation Subjects and RE

Unlike learning style, creativity is considered a learning process. A broad and balanced

curriculum such as core articles can provide children with questioning, develop creative thinking,

and encourage them to engage in stimulating activities such as discussions that challenge

opinions and ideas. Creative thinking can also be reflected in the various manifestations of

children's ideas, notions, body and language. The students in Foundation have benefited from a

broad and balanced curriculum effectively and could combine ideas and explain other problems

efficiently. According to the study of Lu et al. (2017), it is shown that all children perform

differently, but the result is the same. They presented their thoughts and concepts well visually

on the subject and uniquely demonstrated creativity. It is used to demonstrate the importance of

creating a dynamic and attractive learning atmosphere for the growth of students where

children's spiritual and mental skills can be improved through actually being creative and

motivating teaching methods.

It also includes five legal elements in the curriculum, including creativity, ICT and

international affairs, numeracy and literacy throughout the course. This is an issue because this

expensive course and limited curriculum led teachers to think of new ways to create core

material (Neff and Germer, 2018). The “Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency”

(QCDA) is committed to providing support to teachers in difficult courses to fit into the

curriculum. However, over-standardised courses have been criticised as part of national

programs, and other government agencies also have limited creativity in teaching. It is

articulated in the study of Fassbender et al. (2017) that a lack of creativity in teaching is a major

problem. Some believe that this can have an adverse influence on the improvement of children

and teenagers in the foundation.

Therefore, it is essential to address creativity problems; educators and professionals have

focused on learning curricula and subjects. These teaching methods are considered to promote

the creative learning and development of young children. It is important to increase children's

confidence in the necessary materials also means that children feel valued and cherished by their

teachers. It meant that teachers congratulate children and reward them for their determinations,

hard work and contributions. It is noted that ignoring and praising child efforts can undermine

children's self-confidence, and lack of self-confidence can also affect children's creativity and

prevent them from going out and exploring (Claessens et al., 2018).

This is an important factor in the development and creativity of children. It is believed

that if children lack the confidence and ability to take risks and make mistakes, they will lose

their creativity. Another research regarding children’s creativity provides insightful information

that children with valuable opportunities to take risks, make mistakes and gain self-confidence. It

is evaluated that children grow up in an environment where they can freely use their knowledge

and skills to solve problems and conduct research, research and research. Core topics such as

R.E., Citizenship and PHSE help build individuals' self-confidence by asking questions and

discussing issues of disrespect and self-esteem (Lindahl et al., 2017).

They also allow children to express their views on the world through discussions and

debates. Inadequate preparation for teaching and lack of learning skills are other barriers to

creativity. Creativity must be carefully planned and require many talents in this field; otherwise,

students' learning opportunities are limited and vague. It is noted that teacher can try to teach

creatively to lead children because their learning goals and learning environment neither

encourage nor explain the motivation to participate. Therefore, a teacher must look for a broad

and balanced curriculum by careful and thorough planning when planning actions and research

on behalf of children.

Creative learning in foundation subjects and RE

Nature of creativity is used in a classroom for making the course exciting and interesting

for the children. Therefore, the teacher needs to handle both creativity and curriculum as it is

helpful for students to innovate, but also inspires them to get more information and knowledge

(Ness and Glăveanu, 2019). Moreover, creativity is essential as it can make them more

expressive and enhance their social skills, students can become excellent peacemakers. Due to

the nature of creativity, it can truly change the teaching methods for student, and in this way,

they can get effective education. The nature of creativity plays an important part in students'

emotional growth. Creativity offers students an interesting learning opportunity. There are

several learning activities such as storytelling, sketching, and painting to help them get an

effective amount of information without pressure.

They always love to have entertained and add creativity to the curriculum to pursue their

studies (Perry and Collier, 2018). Creativity provides them with the independence to discover

their surroundings and acquire new ideas from them. In this way, students always benefit from a

creative environment that benefits them to learn freely and without restrictions. It is analysed that

if they can creatively express their true feelings over time, they can develop self-confidence

because creativity can stimulate students' imagination. Therefore, teachers encourage students for

open-ended questions, teamwork, focus groups and discussions (Henriksen et al., 208). The

nature of creativity is effective, and therefore it should be taught wisely as it can be challenging

for a teacher to present; however, children can learn easily and in a fun way.

University teachers mainly use the creative approach, but professors and supervisors can

also use it at all school levels. Its main purpose is to encourage teachers to recognise and

evaluate the current knowledge and diverse language learners' skills and encourage students to

attend language courses (Sanina, Kutergina and Balashov, 2020). An innovative approach to

language learning is a way to show creativity as one of many innate talents that every learner

possesses. This creative approach is based on the notion that, under certain circumstances, the

student can all develop creativity. It is noted that students have different forms of creativity, and

the teacher must get insight information about their student.

It is noted that language is the part of foundation subject; therefore, teacher such as

foreign language teachers can motivate students for being creative. It is noted that for the

language, which is the foundation subject that creativity is in human nature (Mannay and Turney,

2020). Therefore, it is easy to provide information to others or communicate their ideas and

notions differently. Additionally, every thought that is expressed or communicated leads to a

variety of reactions. Therefore, every sentence, phrase, or word can be rewritten to create a

unique form of communication and be reworded to suit the author's purpose.

It is noted that language teaching is not limited to subjects or professional knowledge.

Thus, language teachers can organise courses on sports, leadership, law, or mathematics,

emphasising language. It is used to strengthen a bond between students and teachers to share

their professional knowledge. It is noted that creativity is important for students in primary

education; therefore, language courses help students develop their creativity (McGeeney, 2017).

The state of creation refers to a situation close to reality. In these situations, students do not use

known practice steps, and these steps can be used almost automatically to find the right solution

to the problem.

In creative situations, students are asked to provide one or more answers to interrelated

questions. They do not know what steps can be taken to solve the problem; they may not be sure

that there is a solution to the problem, some possible solutions or no solution at all (Rasulova,

2020). Students are never faced with clear situations that only lead to success or failure or good

or bad answers. Instead, they face vague and initial reactions. Sometimes even identified

conditions or variables that have been identified may even need explanation. A language is a

form of communication that can be used in almost any situation; it is easier to create reliability or

close reality than chemical or historical categories.

In most cases, creative language learning is based on the idea that each student can be in

a creative state. It shows the complexity of the language by placing students in a position close to

reality. In a safe, flexible and dynamic environment, this is achieved through a classroom for

students who form a working community (Kashekova, Medkova and Piryazeva, 2021). It is

important to reduce the risk of spending too much time preparing material that students did not

participate in. These activities can increase students' autonomy and suit their learning style, and

these practices have many benefits for teachers and students.

Story to develop knowledge in foundation subjects and RE

The chosen subject in the current assignment is geography, highlighting the importance

of the subject in the foundation phase. It is noted that geography is vital for the people living in

the UK to make better relationships and make the world a better place. However, the chosen

story in the current assignment is “Mama Panya's Pancakes: A Village Tale from Kenya". It is

noted that this story tells about the culture of Kenya. The current story emphasises the culture

and community and guides students and adults about a different culture. The importance of the

current story is that students get to know the culture of other country and in this way, they can

make a stronger bond with each other (Park Mostafa and Han, 2020). However, creativity is also

essential in the foundation phase; therefore, the subject of geography needs creativity. It is noted

that with the help of creative approaches in the subject of geography, students can learn more

about the subject.

Mama Panya's Pancakes: A Village Tale from Kenya was written by Mary and Rich

Chamberlain and it was illustrated by Julia Carnes. Mama Panya and her son walked from their

village in order to buy some items such as flour to the market so that they can make pancakes.

On their way to market, Mama Panya’s son excitedly invited as many of his friends for dinner.

Mama Panya started to getting worried with the increasing number of invitation from her son as

she had to stretch her limit. However, it is found that each guest has arrived with food and bring

different feast with themselves. In this way, the feast has become doubled due to their generous

nature. By the help of this story, it is easy to understand about the life in Kenya and their culture.

It shows that people are poor but they have shown enough generosity in order to help others.

Geography has been a vital part of the development of children, and it is used to learn

about different places and cultural characteristics and helps children know more about the

interdependent world. The importance of geography subject is essential in the foundation as it

emphasises on past time and importance of the role of evolution of different places, culture and

environment (Trevisan, 2017). This is beneficial for children to get first-hand information about

their past at early stages. Moreover, the knowledge of geography also intersects with different

subjects such as History and Biology. Therefore, geography can help students get more

information about it and give them a wider picture with enormous information.

It is noted that the role of creativity is greater in the curriculum, and it used to provide

broad and balanced curriculum. However, in geography, the importance of creativity is immense

as it used to provide ingenuity to the subject, which is used to connect with nature and humans

(Mancini, 2019). It is analysed that the creative activities in geography are related to the

expression they have opportunities to express. On the other hand, they can provide imaginative

information with the help of geography. Moreover, creativity can be impressive in geography,

which provides students to think critically.

Teachers do not have to look for the best material for a certain group of people. Instead,

they received a text base for students. Teachers can also release the traditional storytelling

method and facilitate complex language learning in geography (Mancini, 2019). On the other

hand, students are more active in researching subjects, especially in geography. They need to set

their quality standards and practice reading and critical thinking individually and extremely

outside the classroom. Each student also works on geography to develop their method for being

creative at the same time. They must decide for themselves, make a decision, show their

schoolmates the results and be prepared to act. By adapting and recognising their different

learning styles, the choice of teaching materials and various projects available for each child's

learning and creative development contributes (Hartman, Parra and de Roo, 2019). Despite

extensive research on the benefits of creativity in geography, creativity is still an irregular part of

the National Curriculum Guide, forcing teachers and schools to incorporate creativity into their

policies and practices.

On the other hand, different equipment providing students and teachers with digital

storytelling tools that are easier than ever. Subsequently, geography can assist students in

developing creativity and solve significant effective in an innovative way (Ssentanda and

Andema, 2019). It can be efficient for teachers to provide information on geography to their

students to increase students' enthusiasm and create a supportive learning atmosphere. In this

way, students can use skills and competencies to generate digital stories based on specific

learning objectives. Storytelling is used as an example of multimedia creation for educational

commitments.

Activity

The selected activity in the current assignment is fieldwork which is associated with

geography. It is noted that by the help of fieldwork students are able to enhance their technical

skills which are required by any practitioners. It is important for students to translate their

theoretical notions and ideas into real-world circumstances, therefore, active fieldwork activity is

vital for providing basic learning principles (Trevisan, 2017). By the help of fieldwork activity,

students are able to increaser their intellectual and individual skills and capabilities. According to

many teachers and scholars all over the world, fieldwork activity is beneficial for geography

curriculum and it provide great assistance in the development of transferable skills among

students. In this way, students can enhance their personal skills by fieldwork activity related to

geography which is vital for vocational skills (Park Mostafa, and Han, 2020). On the other hand,

fieldwork activity also provides first-hand information to students about their geographical

locations and understand of it in an effective manner. Moreover, the use of fieldwork activity can

improve the technical ability among students and in this way, they can handle equipment

efficiently (Thier, Russin and Mahagaonkar, 2018). They can become more competence at their

research in geography by the help of fieldwork activity.

Conclusion

It is important to develop an effective base of foundation, and it is a complex procedure.

It involved quality, capabilities and the ability to provide knowledge and information. Teachers

need to put a broad and balanced curriculum that can include literacy, mathematics and science,

and undergraduate subjects. Educators and teachers need to encourage students to get these

qualities and encourage them to believe in their creativity. It is noted that teamwork can

encourage the group to think creatively and settle for learning to accept other ideas. Unlike

traditional teaching approaches, as opposed to the nature of creativity and creativity give students

the chance to express themselves. It can be in the form of a discussion, class debate or field trip;

students have the opportunity to stand out and participate. They are also willing to make a small

contribution to the learning process. Creative expression is very important to stimulate children's

emotional development.

Creativity is a complex area that can be explored and discussed from different angles.

This is one reason why there is no general recognition, and we must always keep in mind the

position taken when defining creativity. Teachers often believe that it is their responsibility to

choose study materials and assignments for their students. When students are not satisfied with

their choice, they sometimes come as a surprise. It is noted that storytelling has been a popular

educational tool for passing on information from one generation to the next. In recent years,

various media have spread the message; however, the audience has been changed recent years.

Overall, storytelling is a powerful teaching method that can increase the educational impact of

education, science and technology. It is concluded that there are several benefits for storytelling

as it can pass tradition and heritage to the coming generations.
