Okay class, Please rise for we will
be having our energizer. Are you
familiar with the action song “If

-Listen when somebody is talking.
-Raise your hand when you want to answer or you have a

-Prevent unnecessary noise and rooming around when

B. MOTIVATION (5 minutes)
Telling a story
(The teacher will read the story through
PowerPoint presentation)

“Mother asked Lara to buy eggs from the


store. She bought 3 pieces of eggs for
15pesos. She gave the storekeeper a 20-
peso bill. Then, the storekeeper gave her
10 pesos as her change. Lara stopped
and looked at the 10 pesos on her hand.

Do you understand the story? Yes, we do.

Let us see if you really understand the


story. I have here a strips of paper. The
paper contains a question. I will call
someone to answer the question. If you
can answer it correctly, you could have a
very good stamp!

1. What did Mother ask Lara to do? Mother asked Lara to buy eggs from the store.
2. How many eggs did she buy? She bought 3 pieces of eggs.
3. How much do eggs cost in all? The eggs cost 15 pesos in all.
4. How much did Lara give to the
storekeeper? Lara gave 20 peso bill.

5. Did the storekeeper give Lara the


right change? No, he did not.
6. How much change should the
storekeeper give Lara? The storekeeper should only give Lara 5 peso.
7. If you were Lara, what would you
do after the storekeeper gave you
the 10 pesos change? I would give the excess change to the storekeeper.
C. ANALYSIS
Class, what we did was, we thought of
what would happen next in the story.

We call it predicting outcomes.

It means thinking what will happen next.

From the given story, how did you


predict what Lara did next? I predicted what Lara did next because I experienced it
too.
Very good.

Class, for us to predict outcome, we may


use the events that happened in the
given story of situation. We may also use
the information from our experiences.

D. ACTIVITY
Let’s try other situations. Let us predict
what will happen next to the following
situations.
1. Daniel is caught in the rain. He has no
umbrella. What do you think will happen
to Daniel?
a. Daniel will feel hungry.
b. Daniel will get sick.
c. Daniel will stay under the rain.

2. Ana was ready for the dance show. She
had practiced the dance steps very well.
She smiled as she came out on the stage.
Then Ana.
a. Forgot all the dance steps.

3. Mark wakes up excited and happy. The
sun is shining. It is a perfect day for a trip
to the beach. After a few seconds, what

E. ABSTRACTION
We will play a game.

Do you know the game “Bring Me”

I’m going to show different pictures. You


will predict what will happen next based
on the pictures that I will show you.
You will find the answer on the picture
posted on the wall. Once you find it,
bring it to me. If you get the correct
answer, you’ll get a very good stamp.
