STRINGS FAMILY
- The strings are the largest family of instruments
in the orchestra and they come in four size.
Ex.
WOODWIND FAMILY
- a type of musical instrument that you play by
blowing into its mouthpiece.
Ex.
BRASS FAMILY
- Brass instruments are essentially very long
pipes that widen at their ends into a bell-like
shape.
Ex.
PERCUSSION FAMILY
- Percussion instruments make a sound when
they are struck, shaken, scraped, plucked, or
rubbed. Some types, such as rattles and
xylophones, have moving parts built into them
that make a sound.

ELECTRONIC FAMILY
- any musical instrument that produces or
modifies sounds by electric, and usually
electronic, means.
