“Pass the Bear”
The teacher will paste a chart to the board and the students will determine
what forms or types of creative nonfiction it is but with a twist. They will
play a game called “Pass the Bear,” when the song starts, student who holds
the bear will pass it to his/her seatmate. When the song stops, who among the
student’s hold the bear will answer the statement pasted on the board.
B. ANALYSIS
1. What are some forms of creative nonfiction you have written?
2. What is the most important technique that you need to consider while
writing?
C. ABSTRACTION
The teacher will discuss the forms and types of creative nonfiction:
 Autobiography
 Biography
 Memoir
 Literary Journalism or Reportage

The students will compare and contrast the indicated forms and types of creative

Directions: Write TRUE if the statement is correct and FALSE if the statement is
wrong.
1. Testimonio is a story about those who witness the injustice of life particularly
those who belong in the marginalized sector in a community.
2. Autobiography is written in third person point of view.
3. Literary Journalism is closely related to magazine and newspaper writing.
4. Travelogue focuses on the scenery, people and the warmness of the place and
the people.
5. Memoirs are generally much longer in length because they tend to
concentrate on a particular theme.

Test 2.
Differentiate memoirs from personal narrative.

F. ASSIGNMENT
“Look Up!”
Look for a particular article about success story of a person. Read and evaluate the
story if you are inspired and touched by the author’s life. Write your reflection of the
article.
