Exercise 14.1 – Customize a Notification


Business Scenario
Your company has decided that they would like to customize the Scheduled Offering
Enrollment Message.

Using your SAP SuccessFactors Learning instance, modify a Scheduled Offering


Enrollment message with the following specifications.

Step 1
Search for one of your previously created items.

Step 2
Create a new Scheduled Offering from that item.

Make sure to populate the following:

 Facility – Select one you have created, make sure you populated
Contact Information on the Facility Record
 Location – Select one you have created
 Instructor – Select one you have created
 Scheduled Offering Description
 Populate information in the Contact, Phone, Email, and Fax fields
 Populate a Registration Cut-Off Date and Time

Step 3
Make the following adjustments to the Enrollment Notification:

i. Add a background color of your choice to the email (depending upon your
email client the background color may not display)
ii. Remove the Syntax Tag for the Item Key
iii. Make the Item Title red and underlined
iv. Add a horizontal rule after the offering description and before the
segment details
v. Bold the tag that brings in the segment details
vi. Add another horizontal rule after the segment details
vii. Add the appropriate tags that brings in the Contact Name, Email, and
Phone, bold and underline the values
viii. Please feel free to add any additional formatting, as we would like to make
the message look the best we can for the customer

Step 4
Make sure email is enabled for your assigned LMS instance.

Step 5
Make sure to enable Notification Header and Footers in

System Admin > Configuration > System Configuration > LMS_ADMIN:


support.enableNotificationHeaderFooter=true

Step 6
Populate a valid email address into a user record.

Note: If your company email does not work, (due to blocking) you may use a personal
email address.

Step 7
Modify the Organization record for the user so that it includes a footer with the text: “This
notification may contain sensitive information that must not be shared outside the XYZ
organization.”

Step 8
Register that user into the scheduled offering you created in this exercise. Make sure
when enrolling the user, you select to send Email Confirmations to the User.

Step 9
Take a screen capture of the email received and email that to your instructor(s) with the
subject Ex14.1: Customize a Notification - ## (Replace ## with your instance number) to
your instructor(s).

Exercise 14.2 – Customize a Certificate of


Completion
Business Scenario
Your company has decided that they would like to customize the certificate of completion
for programs, by adding the Company Logo to the top of the certificate.

Using your SAP SuccessFactors Learning instance, create a new Certificate of Completion
for Programs.

Step 1
Open an existing Certificate of Completion for programs and copy the text from the HTML
Markup section.

Step 2
Create a new Certificate of Completion for programs.

Make sure to populate the following:

 Template ID
 Description
 Category – select Program
 Orientation – choose Landscape

Step 3
Paste the text you copied from the default template and make the following changes:

1. Add User Job Title after User First Name and Last Name
2. Change the logo of the company (make sure to change the name of the file after
you import the image src="<name of the file goes here/>"
3. Change the text “has completed the course” into “has successfully completed the
program”

Step 4
Save the template and preview the Certificate.

Email a screen shot of the customized certificate with the subject Ex14.2 Customize a
