Lab 8 Water Quality Write Up

The water sample was collected from a fish tank which contained a fish and snails. The document describes creating bar charts showing averages of temperature, dissolved oxygen, and carbon dioxide from different water sources to analyze for a class assignment. The student is reminded that work must be in their own words and not plagiarized.

1. Describe where your water sample was collected, and what the water environment looks like—what
organisms live in the water your sample was collected from? Are there any known pollutants or
chemicals that you suspect may be in your sample? (3)
The water sample was collected from a fish tank. The water environment had a fish and a few snails
living in it, as well as a water filter. The water looked clear and mostly clean, however, it is possible
that the organisms and food they consume could be potential pollutants.

2. Use the class data to create bar chart with the parameter listed in the table on the y-axis and the water
samples tested on the x-axis. Insert your bar graph into the table below. Each graph should have figure
caption, labelled x and y axis, sample size for each condition, and a legend. (1 point each graph)
