AME service and panel installation


eMAM in its latest version 5.0 is now integrated with Adobe Media Encoder (AME) for transcoding which
offers a seamless media transcoding with significantly faster turnaround time. Adobe Media Encoder is a
transcoding and rendering application that lets you encode audio and video contents in a variety of
formats. Adobe Media Encoder (AME) can now be used as a centralised service for all eMAM transcoding
needs. eMAM has built an Adobe Media Encoder panel extension inside Media Encoder to use it as a
transcoder. AME can run as a service. Using Adobe Media Encoder Panel, you can submit jobs to AME
queue for transcoding, transcode the jobs to proxy, thumbnail, mezzanine etc. and monitor the progress
and status of transcoding.
Follow the steps below to install AME Service and AME panel in Windows and Mac machine:
AME Service Installation

• Windows
1. Install AMEWinService.exe from
Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CC
2018\AMEWinService.exe
(AMEWinService.exe -install command)
2. Start Adobe AME Service.
3. Download ExManCmd from AME Panel Download area.
4. Locate ExManCmd.exe.
5. Install Using below command
ExManCmd /install "path of zxp file"
• Mac
1. Download ExManCmd from Panel Download area.
2. Locate ./Contents/MacOS/ExManCmd
3. Install Using below command
./ExManCmd --install "path of zxp file"

AME PANEL Installation

• Windows
1. Location of config file
C:/Users/Public/AME/config.json
It contains port number, internal json file, preset path, log paths.
2. Location of data json file
C:/Users/Public/AME/data.json
It contains details regarding AME submitted jobs.
3. Default local preset path
C:/Users/Public/AME/AME_PRESET/
This is the location for downloaded preset files. This file is used for trans-coding.
4. Location log files
C:/Users/Public/AME/AMELOGS

It consists of three level logs. information related, error related, and exception
related.

• Mac
1. Location of config file
/Users/Shared/AME/config.json
It contains port number, internal json file, preset path, log paths.
2. Location of data json file
/Users/Shared/AME/data.json
It contains details regarding AME submitted jobs.
3. Default local preset path
/Users/Shared/AME/AME_PRESET/
