IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Pre-Activity
presenting the new lesson  Greetings of Magalang bow:”Magandang buhay, Mabuting Tao
 Prayer
 Classroom rules

Review of Previous lesson:

B. Establishing a purpose for the Brainstorming!
lesson Anecdote 1 - Using the analogy of a compass pointing north to explain the
direction of magnetic fields in everyday life.

Anecdote 2 - Relating the concept of magnetic fields to the traditional Filipino

game of 'sungka' to illustrate the interaction between currents.
C. Presenting examples/instances Role-Playing
of the lesson
1) Idea - Students act out a scenario where they are magnetic field lines, and
they have to interact with each other based on the rules of magnetic fields.

D. Discussing new concepts and Activity 1: Magnetic Field Mapping
practicing new skills #1 Instructions -
1) Place the bar magnet under the paper and sprinkle iron filings over it.
2) Observe and sketch the pattern of iron filings to represent the magnetic field
lines.
3) Discuss the results and relate them to the Biot-Savart Law.
Rubric - Accuracy of sketch - 15 pts.
Assessment Questions:
1) Explain why iron filings align along the magnetic field lines.
2) How does the strength of a magnetic field affect the pattern of iron filings?
3) Compare and contrast the magnetic field around a bar magnet and a current-
carrying conductor.
E. Discussing new concepts and Teach Talk
practicing new skills #2
Teaching the concept involves demonstrating the right-hand rule to
determine the direction of the magnetic field around a current-carrying
conductor, followed by guided practice solving sample problems with
student participation
F. Developing Mastery Project-Based Learning

Task 1 - Design a simple electromagnet using a nail, wire, and battery to

demonstrate the practical application of magnetic fields.
Task 2 - Calculate the magnetic field strength at different distances from a
current-carrying wire and plot a graph to visualize the relationship.

G. Finding practical application Explain the quotation below:

concepts and skills in daily
living

https://www.azquotes.com/quotes/topics/magnetic-fields.html

Magnetic fields and attraction: In physics, opposite poles of magnets attract

each other. We could use this as a metaphor for good faith. When we
approach others with good faith, there's a sense of openness and willingness
to understand each other, fostering a connection.
H. Making generalizations and Answer the following questions.
abstractions about the lesson
1.Why is it important to calculate the magnetic field vector at specific points in
space in electromagnetic studies?
2) Describe the process of determining the direction and magnitude of the
magnetic field using the Biot-Savart Law equations.
3) How do the calculated magnetic field vectors help in predicting the
interactions between magnetic fields and current-carrying elements?
I. Evaluating learning Answer the following questions.

Question 1 - Calculate the magnetic field strength at a point located 5 cm away

from a wire carrying a current of 2 A.
Question 2 - Determine the direction of the magnetic field around a wire
carrying a current towards you.
Question 3 - Explain how the magnetic field changes with distance from a
current-carrying conductor.
