For the attention of parents
The parents are requested to go through the prospectus thoroughly. Please
submit the application only if you are willing to accept the rules and regulations.
Once the child is admitted, it is presumed that the parents and the child have
no objection to abide by the said rules.

All the details given in the prospectus are related to the hostel admission only
and not in any way applicable to the child’s admission to school or college. The
Principal / the Headmaster will admit the child by following the existing rules
framed by the Department of Education from time to time.

Introduction
Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Educational Institutions are established by the divine
blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba as well as the missionary zeal of
Late Rev. Madiyala Narayana Bhat, the founder president of the institutions.

For more than five decades, the institutions have grown into various branches
known to impart value based education. The cluster of schools run by the trust
at present include a fully residential CBSE School (class VI to X), a high school
and a pre university colleges affiliated to Karnataka State board with hostel
facilities for boys. The hostels are run by Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Sangha (R),
Alike. These hostels function according to the foundation of the ancient
‘Gurukula’ system of education with modern academic facilities. The main
aim of the Institutions is to foster Indian culture and tradition in the minds of
children along with scholastics.

The Institution is located at Alike village, 6 kms away from Vittal town, in
Dakshina Kannada district. It is surrounded by magnificent green hills with
beautiful scenery and situated far away from the distractions of cities. The serene
environment of the institution provides a conducive and favourable atmosphere
for the students to pursue their studies.
Some unique features of the institution

The motto of the institution is Atma Kalyana and Loka Kalyana.To attain
this goal, education is imparted based on five fundamental universal human
values - Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi, Prema and Ahimsa.
All important national and religious festivals, birthdays of great saints,
patriots and religious leaders are celebrated.
Faith in the fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man is instilled through
moral classes, prayers, bhajans, stories and parables drawn from different
religions of the world.
The students are taught to be self-reliant, active and practical, and are
encouraged to develop a sense of social obligation and service-
mindedness.
The students are provided with homely atmosphere.

Admission guidelines
Those who wish to seek admission to above mentioned classes should apply
through our website www.alikeonline.org
After receiving the applications, aspirants who meet the basic eligibility criteria
will be invited to appear for the entrance test followed by an interview. The
results of the same and further details of the process can be checked within a
week after the entrance test on our website: www.alikeonline.org
Points to Note:
The hostels are being run only for boys.
We have decided to consider the students only from nearby places for 6th
standard (within 350 k.m. from the campus.)
There will be an extra 5% weightage for Sri Sathya Sai Balavikasa students
and those who have special talent in music, dance, drama, yakshagana etc.
Students need to bring the print out of downloaded application form, copy of
Aadhaar and copy of SA-1/Mid-term marks card when they arrive for the
Entrance test and interview.
Students can appear for the written tests even though the results of their
annual examinations are not announced.
Influence or pressure of any kind, through any authorities, will lead to
negative marks to aspiring students.

Boys Hostel (PU College)


Rules for admission
All necessary documents such as transfer certificate, aadhar card, caste
certificate (if applicable) must be presented at the time of admission.
Hostel admission will not be provided in the following circumstances.
If the students needs to go far off places for medical treatment,
takes leave for festivals, poojas, felicitations, family tours, other
examinations, etc.
If the student is suffering from severe physical or mental illnesses,
such as chronic diseases, heart conditions, epilepsy, depression,
etc.
Upon admission to the hostel, parents are required to provide necessary
information to the warden like previous serious medical treatments,
continuation of treatment, vision-related issues, hearing problems, etc.
The documents related to any earlier medical treatment should be handed
over to the Warden / the Health Supervisor of the hostel.
Fees once paid will not be refunded for any reason; including withdrawal
from the hostel or dismissal from the hostel at any time during the
academic year. This will also apply in cases of expulsion.
Admission to the hostel is granted for one year only. Renewal for
subsequent years will depend on the student's conduct during the
previous year.

Facilities available in the campus

The hostel has a spacious dinning hall where a well-balanced, nutritious,


purely vegetarian food is served.
Well lit classrooms are provided for studies - supervised by faculty members.
The campus has vast playgrounds, stationery stores, a canteen, laundry
facilities, a salon, a printing press, a branch of State Bank of India (SBI), a
post office, photocopy centre, and Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital.
Everything necessary for the children is available within the campus.
There are well-equipped laboratories and the classrooms are fitted with LCD
projectors for enhanced audio-visual learning experiences.
The students will be given telephone facility to keep in touch with their
parents.
In addition to the regular academic classes, special paid coaching sessions
will be offered for competitive exams like CET, NEET and JEE for both I PUC
& II PUC Science students.
These sessions are conducted on every Saturday afternoon, Sundays, and
other holidays, by highly qualified and experienced lecturers.
Furthermore, coaching for the CA Foundation and various other competitive
exams will be provided specifically for II PUC Commerce and Arts students.
Vidyadeepa Skill Academy LLP is responsible for conducting these coaching
classes, which will be exclusively held at Alike for Alike students.

Computer Lab
Co-curricular activities

Students can engage in various activities for their overall personality


development, such as wall magazine, debates, chintana, quiz, painting, veda
classes, geetha recitation, cultural activities, and band-set performances.
Moreover, special classes in classical music, tabla, dance, drama,
yakshagana, and computer science are offered for interested students upon
payment of a fixed annual fee. Various sports including football, volleyball,
handball, basketball, badminton, cricket, table tennis, physical exercise,
multigym, swimming, and yoga are encouraged to promote physical fitness
and mental well-being.

Disciplinary regulations
Discipline holds utmost significance within the campus premises.
All students are required to wake up at 4:55 AM, and participate
wholeheartedly and punctually in the group prayers and other scheduled
activities for the day.
On designated days, students must wear the prescribed white uniform.
Additionally, specific uniforms for yoga, sports, and games are mandatory.
Maintaining absolute cleanliness and tidiness in hostel rooms, study areas,
and throughout the campus is expected from all students.
Lights will be turned off precisely at 9:55 PM after the general prayer.
Following the prayer, everyone is expected to retire to bed. Students are
permitted to rise even before 4.55 AM for studies, if necessary.
Loud voices and idle chatting are strictly prohibited. Complete silence must
be observed in prayer sessions, dining hall, study hours and during public
programmes.
Students are not permitted to grow moustaches and beards, nor wear flashy
or extravagant clothing, multi coloured lungis, bangles, bracelets, or gaudy
garments. Simple and decent attire is mandatory for all students.

Swimming Pool
Disciplinary regulations

Students are prohibited from bringing books, newspapers, magazines, or any


other publications considered unnecessary or potentially harmful by the
authorities.
Electronic devices such as radios, mobile phones, cameras, iPods, pen
drives, smartwatches, etc. are not allowed.
Smoking, drinking, gambling, and consuming non-vegetarian food, including
eggs, are strictly forbidden. Chewing gum or any other such items are not
allowed in the premises.
Students are not permitted to keep more than Rs.100/- with them. Any
additional amount should be deposited in a bank account opened in their
name or in hostel special account. They may withdraw money from this
account when needed.
Monetary transactions among students are strictly prohibited.
Any student who damages the institution's assets or property will face
penalties.
Driving motor vehicles within the campus is not allowed for students.
Students are expected to stay in the rooms assigned to them and not allowed
to enter any other rooms.
Letters/parcels addressed to students are subject to inspection. Sending food
items through post or courier is not allowed.
Students are expected to develop humility and respect for all elders,
teachers, and staff.
Students found breaking the aforementioned rules will face disciplinary
actions, including expulsion from the hostel.

Boys Hostel (Balakuteera - State Syllabus)


Instructions to parents
Parents or relatives are requested to avoid visiting their ward within the first
month after admission. They should visit their ward only on designated
Sundays. During the visit, taking the student off-campus or entering
classrooms/living areas is not allowed. Please note that frequent visits may
disturb the student’s progress and his adjustment to hostel life.
Parents are requested not to visit the campus under the influence of alcohol
and to refrain from smoking while on the premises.
During prayer or events, parents are asked not to keep their children with
themselves.
Parents are requested to bring only fruits and sweets for their ward and
refrain from sitting separately with him outside the dining hall and sharing
brought food.
Participation in prescribed educational / spiritual camps, festive celebrations
and festivals is an important part of the institution's policy to promote unity
among students.
Students are allowed to visit home only during mid-term holidays and
summer vacation. Parents should refrain from requesting leaves for
festivals, poojas, felicitations, tours, marriage functions of relatives (except
for their own siblings’ weddings), or housewarming ceremonies not
pertaining to their own house, etc.
Parents are welcome to visit the campus on working days with prior
permission to discuss their ward's progress with teachers.
Medical treatment will be provided to the children at the Warden's discretion.
Please note that additional expenses, if any, would be borne by the parents.

Pre University College


Instructions to parents
We request parents to support a positive relationship between students and
staff. Please avoid saying anything that might harm the institution's or staff
members' reputation.
Please note that the institution cannot be held responsible if a student leaves
the campus without permission.
Students can contact parents through designated mobile numbers (for 15
minutes per week). They are not allowed to use visitors' mobile phones other
than those belonging to their own parents.
Accommodation for parents/guardians is not available in the campus.
To maintain the respectful environment of the campus, parents/guardians and
visitors are requested to dress appropriately.
While children are at home during vacation, we request parents to encourage
the good habits learned at the hostel/ the school.
The boarding fees, to be paid in advance by each student residing in the
hostel towards boarding expenses is displayed on the website.
Total expenses will be assessed at the end of the academic year and if it falls
short of the initial amount, the same will be borne by the parents.
Please note that this fee does not include personal expenses, the school fees,
books, uniforms, stationery, medicine, tour and other contingencies. The
same will be communicated separately.
Those who are selected will have to pay the boarding fees in one instalment
immediately after the announcement of the entrance tests result to reserve
the seat. In case the students fail to join the hostel for any reason, the amount
paid in advance will not be refunded.
