LODHA GENIUS PROGRAMME

WEBINAR 18TH NOVEMBER 2023 – 11.00 A.M TO 12.30 P.M


This programme is sponsored by Lodha Group and Ashoka University is conducting this 1 Month residential
programme. Post this programme, the students will have virtual mentorship throughout the year.
This programme consists of Hands-on and Experiential Learning of Maths, Science and Intersection of various
disciplines.

30 faculties from different countries who are industrial experts will conduct this programme.
In this 2024 Cohort, they will be selecting 130 students as the participants.
Class 9 and 10 – 60 students in each class
Class 11 and 12 – 30 students in each class

There are 16 great idea seminars which will be interactive sessions for a month.

The participants will undergo maths classes for a week. After a week, the students can choose either to learn
Mathematics for All or Mathematics – Problem Solving Elective (Olympiad Preparation)

Also, the students will do projects based on a few science topics – Life Science, Ecology, Microscopy, Art and
Astronomy, AI and Robotics, Nanofabrication, etc...,

It includes workshops such as Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy, Learning Science through Theatre,
Other ArtXScience Workshops, Telescope Building, Archive Creation – History of Science, Foldscope
Workshop, Fablabs – 3D Printing, Science Communication Workshops.

Focus Areas: Shaping Success and Driving Impact:


Class 9 and 10:
1. Basics in Maths and Science
2. Problem Solving and Experimental Maths
3. Learn Logical Arguments
4. Exposure to Multi-Disciplinary Science
5. Short–Term Workshops
6. Demos and Lectures
Class 11 and 12:
1. Specialization in Maths/ Science
2. Olympiad Training (for selected students)
3. Computational and Lab skills
4. Application- Based Mathematics
*Credit Based Approach would be followed for both the groups.

Beyond the classroom, there will be a science museum and astronomy tour arranged for the students.
Diverse Explorations such as Talent time, Music, Astronomy, and Board game clubs are also available for the
students.
Once the students complete their on-campus programme, they will undergo a light touch program between
September 2024 to April 2025.
This programme includes –
1. Remote mentorship,
2. School Events in respective cities
3. Send selected students to National/ International Summer Programs/ Workshops
4. Internships for the deserving students
5. Winter Workshops for selected subjects and students
6. Holistic Academic module
NON ACADEMIC PROGRAMME
In addition to the academic programme, the students will undergo Non-academic programmes that are as
follows:
1. ASHOKA UNIVERSITY WOMEN IN STEM (AUWS)
Aim: Centre of writing and Communication skills
Objectives:
a. English proficiency enhancement by strengthening foundational language skills.
b. Developing communication skills for effective class participation.
c. Enhancing the ability of students to articulate thoughts and ideas confidently.
Key Components:
a. Language Enrichment Module that will be held a month before the program through online.
b. Tailored content to address specific language challenges and practical exercises and discussions to
reinforce learning.
c. General workshops to enhance critical thinking skills applicable across disciplines.
d. Practical guidance on crafting well-rehearsed arguments and compelling narratives.

2. THE CENTRE OF STUDIES IN GENDER AND SEXUALITY (CSGS)


Objectives:
a. Promote inclusively in STEM
b. Explore gender dynamics in STEM
c. Develop critical thinking

Key Components:
4 Modules: Modules using fun and interactive activities to engage the attendees.
Topics like:
1. Is gender studies a scientific discipline?
2. Where can science reconfigure with the social?
Benefits:
a. Holistic understanding
b. Empowerment
c. Inclusivity

3. OFFICE FOR LEARNING SUPPORT(OLS)


This is a support for learning invisible disabilities.

Key Components:
1. 3 Workshops (2 Hrs each)
a. Activity oriented
b. Help identify learning styles
c. Self-Advocacy – asking for what you need- how and is okay
d. How to access university resources?
2. TA (Teaching Assistant) training to handle student concerns
3. Faculty Training

4. ASHOKA CENTRE FOR WELL BEING (ACWB)


It is a capacity-building programme.

For this programme,


Step 1: The application form needs to be submitted on or before 30 th November 2023.
Step 2: Aptitude Test: based on Social intelligence and Logical Abilities. It will be conducted in a larger
window on that particular date (Tentative Date – 8 th December 2023)

Step 3: Online Interview

Once the students complete all the above 3 processes and get selected. They will be called for the on-campus
programme.

Logistical Support will be done based on the student’s location.

No faculty or parents are allowed to enter the campus and stay during the programme.

For Students: Personal Gadgets are allowed. If not, the teaching assistants will assist them with
communicational support.

There are provisional of indoor sports for the students during the programme.
