II. Event Rationale and Description

A. Event Background:

With the current situation affected by COVID-19, many schools have chosen to
shift into online learning. Most of the schools are challenged to apply the shift from
traditional to online teaching especially during this pandemic. This results in different
problems that leads to constraints which make online learning ineffective.

However, these are the specific problems the Certified Public Advocates (CPA)
aims to address:
1. Not all students are capable of having quality education, due to constraints
such as not having affordable access to digital technologies and not having
a universal learning tool to be utilized by all.
2. Inefficient teaching strategies due to an outdated teaching system applied to
online education.
3. Ineffective teaching system that does not promote the active participation
of students, which leads to the inability to get quality education.

With these, the group is conducting an event entitled “Centric Learning: A Step
Towards the Future”. The event will be led by famous international renowned speakers
that promote new ways of learning which focus on Student-Centered Learning where the
idea is to put student’s interests first for them to be more active, cooperative and responsible
learners. The event will also showcase talent performances from artists to help raise funds
for the financial aid that will be given to scholars.

B. Event Objectives:

The event aims to:

1. To promote the Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education for 2020

which is to provide equal access to affordable vocational training, and to eliminate
gender and wealth disparities with the aim of achieving universal access to a quality
higher education.
2. To educate the viewers on Online Learning by promoting the use of a new
education system and a universal learning tool that can maximize the efficiency of
providing quality education.
3. To raise funds for scholarships to give financial aid to deserving students for them
to be able to continue quality education.

B. Implementation Phase

This cause-oriented event, Centric Learning: A Step Towards the Future, will be
facilitated with the help of all the event organizers who made sure that the event will be a
success. The event organizers made it happen by having multiple meetings to address
necessary issues throughout the planning from brainstorming into finalizing the detailed
plan. Along with the organizers, designers are involved in developing posters that will be
used as the advertisement to attract the target audience. There will also be facilitators on
the event proper who will be in charge in supervising and making sure that the flow of the
whole event will be smooth and nice. Technical Teams will be occupied with managing
technical problems since the event will be done through Facebook Live.

C. Post-implementation Phase

The entire duration of the event will be documented with the help of the team. Every
comment and reaction made by the audience throughout the Facebook Live event will be
recorded. Feedbacks on the advertisement materials such as remarks, criticisms and
observations will be reported. The team will also be providing a feedback survey in order
to hear the participant’s or the audience’s opinions and reflection on the event. Those
feedbacks will be taken into consideration and will serve as a guide for the next event.

IV. Sustainability

The Certified Public Advocates (CPA) will closely monitor the said event. Evaluation will
be handed as soon as the end of the project.
