) Balance (Heavy duty, Ohaus, USA)

 The triple beam balance is a typical instrument used to measure the mass of
various objects. It consists of three beams, each of which is provided with a
single sliding weight that has a size corresponding to the gradations of the
notched scale on each beam.

2.) Laboratory Oven/Drying Oven (Germany, 28 Liters Capacity)

 Laboratory ovens have a wide range of functions and applications that span
many industries. They can be used for drying glassware, curing compounds,
drying asphalt, rock or soil samples.
3.) Sieve, Test, Tyler, USA, Brass (set)

 Sieve test determines the distribution of aggregate particles by size within a

given sample. This information can then be used to determine compliance
with design and production requirements.
 Sieving remains a very cost efficient method of measuring particles,
producing consistent, repeatable results. Standard Test Sieve diameters
include 3", 8", 12", 200 mm, and 300 mm. Special application products are
available in 6", 10", and 18" diameters and include air jet and wet test
designs.

4.) Desiccator, 200 mm, vacuum pump

 Vacuum desiccators remove air and moisture with the use of an in-house
laboratory vacuum or vacuum pump and can be brought back to vacuum
easily after opening. Vacuum desiccators can also be used for degassing
techniques.
5.) Liquid Limit Device

 The liquid limit device is used to determine the moisture content at which
clay soils pass from a plastic to a liquid state. This model is hand operated
with left side crank and hard rubber base.

6.) Soil Compaction Mold, Local 6” & 4”

 Compaction molds are used for soil compaction testing. These rugged proctor
molds comply with numerous test specifications including the Proctor
Compaction Test, California Bearing Ratio (CBR), and Lime rock Bearing Ratio
(LBR) tests. Molds are constructed of clear-zinc plated steel for maximum rust
resistance. Compaction molds are available as complete sets or sold as
individual components.
 It is used for a variety of soil moisture-density relationship tests and are
available as 4in (102mm) or 6in (152mm) solid or split-type molds. The split-
type molds spring apart longitudinally for easy sample removal. The solid-
type molds are less expensive and require the use of Sample Ejectors.
7.) Concrete Test Hammer

 The concrete test hammer is used to evaluate the surface hardness of

hardened concrete in order to evaluate the strength in various parts of the
structure.

8.) Standard Soil Auger

 Standard Soil Augers are constructed of carbon steel or stainless steel for use
in sampling a wide range of soil types. They have an open bit design to allow
larger particles to pass through and feature quick connect fittings. Quick-
Connect Pins, Handles, and Extensions are available and can be purchased
separately.
 Standard augers are used for sampling typical soils and generally have an
open bit design, and are available in 2" to 4" (51-102mm) sizes. Sand augers
are used for dry, sandy soils and are available in 2" to 4" (51-102mm) sizes.
For Heavy, wet soils and clays, Mud augers are available in 2" to 4" (51-
102mm) sizes.
9.) Sand Cone Density Apparatus

 The Sand Cone Apparatus is used to determine the in-place density of any
soil that can be excavated to a stable condition with hand tools. This method
is generally limited to materials with a maximum particle size of 2 in (5.1 cm).

10.) Beaker/ Graduated

 The beaker's primary function is mixing, stirring, and heating liquids. Beakers
have a cylindrical shape with flat bottoms, and most include a smaller spout
for pouring. Read on to learn about the strengths and purposes of graduated
cylinders and beakers and their purpose in the lab!
11.) CBR Mold Set Components

 CBR Mold Set Components are used for compacting, forming, and saturating
soil samples for California Bearing Ratio (CBR) strength testing. Each
component is available individually as the Compaction Mold body, Compaction
Collar, and Base.

12.) LBR Spacer Disk

 LBR Spacer Disc is used in sample preparation for the Florida FM-5-515 Lime
rock Bearing Ratio Test. It is placed within BRA-59M LBR Compaction Mold
prior to compacting the soil to maintain proper specimen height.
13.) Dial Gauge

 Dial gauges are measuring instruments that can accurately measure minute
lengths and displacements. Unlike other measuring instruments that directly
measure numerical values, they are used for measuring the difference
compared to a reference or correcting parallelism.

14.) CBR Machine

 California Bearing Ratio (CBR) is a penetration test to evaluate the relative

strength of soil subgrades and base courses for pavements. A standard piston
is forced into a prepared sample or an in situ site and the resistance is
measured.
15.) Cylindrical Metals

 Determination of the density of freshly mixed concrete and gives formulas for
calculating the yield, cement content, and air content of the concrete. Yield is
defined as the volume of concrete produced from a mixture of known
quantities of the component materials.

16.) Specific Gravity of Sand Soil

 The considerable specific gravity is around 2.65 for sand. Which is mainly the
ratio of the weight of the given volume of aggregates to the weight of an
equal volume of water. But normally in the road construction ranges from
about 2.5 to 3.0 with an average of about 2.68.
 Perform this test to determine the specific gravity of solids (which will be
used to assist in the hydrometer-analysis test) and to calculate the zero-air-
voids curve for compaction results.
17.) Construction Tools Beam Mold

 The beam mold is used to prepare concrete specimens for flexural testing of
concrete beams.

18.) Tamping Rod

 Tamping rods are dimensionally accurate rods used to tamp fresh concrete
into concrete cylinder molds and grout sample boxes to eliminate voids and
excess air.
19.) Slump Test Set

 Concrete slump test equipment is used to measure the consistency and

workability of fresh concrete, and indirectly, the water/cement ratio of the
concrete mix.

20.) Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine

 Universal Hydraulic Tensile Test Machines are produced to test the ferrous
materials for structural values such as yield strength and tensile strength.
Universal Test Machines can also be used for compression tests up to the
capacity of the machine. Maximum capacity is 600 kN. Can be test flat and
round samples.
21.) Mechanical Aggregates Splitters

 Coarse aggregates and mixtures of coarse and fine aggregates may be

reduced to test sample size using a mechanical splitter, in which the sample
will flow smoothly without restriction or loss of material. The quartering
method may be used without regard to moisture in the aggregates.

22.) Steel Cylindrical Mold

 Concrete cylinder molds are used to create cylinder test specimens. The
cylinder molds are constructed of plastic or steel. The plastic concrete
cylinder molds are disposable, while the steel molds are reusable.
23.) Stainless Steel Pan (Set)

 The stainless steel pans are constructed of corrosion-resistant stainless steel

and can be used for sample handling, processing, or storage.
