4th Sem CSIT Mini - Project - Abstract Format

The document describes a mini project investigating an EOQ inventory model where incoming lots contain imperfect items. Particle swarm optimization is used to determine the optimal lot size and maximum profit under different conditions like backorders and variable discounts for imperfect items. Numerical examples are provided to analyze the proposed model.

A Particle Swarm Optimization based EOQ model in an

imperfection production system with variable discount and
shortages
ABSTRACT

Present paper investigates an economic order Quantity (EOQ) model of inventory where
incoming lot has a fraction of imperfect items. Firstly, to explore this model two different
categories are considered, without back order as well as backorder. Imperfect items are taken
with a variable rate of discount. Then after an effective optimization procedure, Particle
Swarm Optimization (PSO) is employed to determine optimal lot size and maximum profit.
Later numerical examples are provided to study the impact of different attributes on the
optimal policy and to analyse the proposed model.

Keywords: Inventory, Imperfect quality, Proportionate discount, Backorder….
