 First, always check if


Dust Indicator is
red, particularly when
working on dusty or
sandy job sites.

 When the dust indicator becomes red
the following procedure should be taken.

 1- Stop the engine.


 2- Take out the outer
element.

 3- Clean the outer element
by passing pressurized air
from inside , outside and
again inside.

 4- Take out one tag of 1 to 6 tags.

 Replace the outer element


which has been cleaned 6
times repeatedly &
replace inner element at
the same time.

 5- Put the outer element back
 Make sure the wing nut and seal
washer and other seals are in
good condition

 6- Push the reset button.

 7- Restart the engine.

 Remember these points.
 1- Never, ever attempt to reinstall inner element.
 2- Never, ever clean or replace the air cleaner element
with the engine running.
 3- If the dust indicator becomes red, short time after
cleaning the outer element. Replace the outer & inner
element . Even if the 6 times cleaning is not completed.

 Check for the


deterioration of the
rubber hose between the
air cleaner and turbo-
charger, and check also
for any loose clamps.

time of cleaning and replacement of an

Criteria When the negative pressure is less than 3.7 kPa;

No problem is caused.
Introduction of new

Criteria When the negative pressure is 7.5 (or more) kPa;

Clean the outer element

After cleaning press


RESET cap
the reset button
Introduction of new
“Dust Indicator”
Immediately after cleaning the outer element start
the engine and check:
Criteria If the negative pressure reaches 5.0 (or more) kPa;

Replace the inner and


outer elements.
After replacing press
RESET cap
the reset button
