A. INTRODUCTION
- Personal branding is a person's own and unique personality, characteristics,
personality, that makes others remember and feel outstanding in the crowd,
expressed through actions and deeds at aspects such as learning, life,
relationships in the company, class, ...

B. BODY
I. Six basic steps to build personal branding
1. Step 1: Know yourself
- First, you should find yourself a quiet space, take a deep breath and ask
yourself: Who am I? What do I like? What am I doing? … to give you time to
face yourself.
- In addition, at present, some of the methods such as Ikigai; or MBTI
psychological test questions; or The Big Personalities that help us discover
ourselves are also widespread.
- Next, boldly chat and ask the manager; mentors or colleagues who always
support you in your work on your strengths; own weaknesses. Do you feel
shy? Do not worry. Let's start with an invitation to drink coffee or milk tea and
then skillfully strike up a conversation!

2. Step 2: Determine the right style

- After you have understood yourself from step one, next you need to determine
the personal branding style you want to aim for.
- Make a list of your strengths, weaknesses, and interests, as well as the skills
you think are necessary to thrive in the job or industry you're aiming for. This
helps you define your personal brand style.

3. Step 3: Identify the target audience

- In this step, you'll need to identify the audiences you want to influence. An
effective trick you can apply is to list what values, what knowledge you bring,
in what field, and then the target group that needs them.
- Next, you need to evaluate for yourself whether the knowledge you provide
will help them, and what is the appropriate way to tell and share stories to
attract attention and bring value to the “audience”.
- Useful advice in finding and filtering potential audiences is to explore all the
aspects that the audience you want to reach needs or is looking for. From
there, find ways to transform yourself into someone who can solve their
problems.

4. Step 4: Build from the basic "capital" available

- There are many platforms for others to identify your brand basically, mainly in
3 main groups:
o Image: It is every time you appear, when you dress well and receive
compliments and admiration from people around. Image is the major
contributing factor in the personal brand that you need to build.
o Message: The message does not have to be the knowledge that you
are sharing, but it can be inspirational, encouraging statements or your
wishes for this life and the world. What you need to care about is the
consistency between the message you send and your own actual life
perspective
o Communication channels: Posting pictures, articles, achievements on
social networking sites (Facebook; LinkedIn; Blog; Instagram;...) is an
effective method of promotion, not costing money but saving time. in
reaching the target audience for your personal branding.

5. Step 5: Develop a complete personal brand

- After you have clearly identified the points to focus on, you need to quickly
proceed to promote your personal branding in the most reasonable, effective
and complete way.
- Try sharing footage of your own life. Realistic and priceless experiences that
you create with your own hands will make your personal brand more
accessible to everyone.
- Finally, don't stop sharing situations in your life that you encounter. Whether
the difficulties you have gone through, or the worries that are still there. This
will help you constantly find new ways, new sources of inspiration when
building your brand image.

6. Step 6: Evaluation
- Once we have certain results, we need to seriously consider and evaluate our
personal brand; since then, we continue to edit, improve day by day. You can
rate it in two ways:
o From your own perspective: Do you see yourself in this direction? After
consideration, if you feel that although the personal branding you
create is not 100% yourself, it is a lever to enhance your appearance,
personality, life values, etc…
o From the perspective of people around: Listening to opinions and
comments from people around will help you know what is appropriate
and inappropriate, expanding more objective perspectives.

II. Eight golden rules to help you build a successful personal brand
1. Set clear goals
- What are your goals for personal branding? Like getting people's attention?
Or increase your chances of getting an offer (invitation) from your business
before you want it?
- When you clearly define your goals, you will also be motivated to pursue them
to the end. Besides, remember to map out a clear roadmap for your personal
brand to take steps to build and develop solidly and long-term.

2. The principle “Less is more”

- People often say: "One profession gives nine, better than nine". You may be
good at many areas, but when building a personal brand, you should invest
your heart in a certain area where you feel confident.
- This not only helps you develop your brand faster and more deeply, but also
makes it easier for your “audience” to grasp the specific niche you are
targeting. From there, your images will also reach the target audience in a
more optimal way.

3. Be yourself
- If you try to be a classy, polite person, while your personality is so close and
simple. “The needle in the bag also comes out,” you will not be able to exude
the elegant elegance of those who have pursued such a style so sincerely
and for a long time.
- Moreover, your followers will also feel unfriendly and "cheated" if they find
yourself behind that "mask". This will also negatively affect your personal
branding and image. So don't be anyone, be the best yourself!

4. Tell your story

- Each of us has our own experiences, pasts, stories, etc. and deserves to be
heard and shared, so don't be quick to underestimate yourself "I don't have a
story to tell?!".
- What you need to do is to refine the details so that the story about you makes
the audience admire you. From there, develop a strong and distinctive
personal branding in the eyes of the opponent.

5. Convey Messages Consistently

- Don't create a personal brand where your internal aspects are inconsistent
and confusing because of a lack of consistency.
- A consistent message will make you more memorable and more impactful.
The trust and credibility of your followers for your brand will also be higher.

6. Make a positive impact

- You should not make an impact with negative, stagnant images that cause
emotions such as anger, sadness, and suffering on the part of others. A
positive image, message and story helps you make a positive impact on the
people around you.

7. Learn to accept imperfections

- As a human, no one is perfect. If you don't see your current disability as a big
deal, then don't worry too much about it. Because sometimes the lack is an
interesting point in the eyes of others.
- Therefore, your personal branding will have imperfections and that can help
you become closer to others instead of trying to create a glossy, spotless
image.

8. Be ready to face failure

- Constantly evaluating your current personal brand image will expose you to
many flaws, mistakes that need to be corrected, and failures. But it also helps
you have the right solutions to upgrade yourself more and more perfectly.
