(a) Determine the new steady state frequency using manual calculation.
(b) Construct the SIMULINK block diagram and obtain the frequency deviation

reactance Xd1 = 0.3 per unit is connected to an infinite bus through a purely reactive circuit as shown in
figure. Reactances are marked on the diagram on a common system base. The generator is delivering
real power Pe = 0.6 per unit and 0.8 power factor lagging to the infinite bus at a voltage of V = 1 per
unit. Assume per unit damping power co-efficient is D=0.138. Consider a small disturbance of
∆δ=10°=0.1745 radian. Obtain equations describing the motion of the rotor angle and the generator
frequency
16. A 300 KV, 3 phase bundled conductor with sub conductors per phase has a horizontal configuration as in
the figure. Find inductance per phase and capacitance if the radius of each sub conductor is 1.2cm.

power system whose data are given below:

normal operating load=1000 MW
Nominal Frequency=50Hertz
Inertia constant of the area=5 seconds
Governor droop= 4%
Governor time constant =0.08 Seconds
Turbine time constant=0.3 seconds
Assume linear load frequency characteristics. The area has a governor control
but not a load frequency controller. The area is subjected to a load increase of 20 MW.
18. Determine the economic generation schedule of three generating units in a power system to
meet the system load of 850 MW. The data of the generating units are given below:
