I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard
The learner is introduced themselves into the locomotor and non-locomotor
movements.
B. Performance Standard
The learner performs the locomotor and non-locomotor movements.
C. Learning Competencies

At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:


1. Classify a particular skill into locomotor and non-locomotor
movements.
2. Perform the locomotor and non-locomotor movements; and
3. Appreciate the importance of movement skills in our daily lives as
healthy lifestyle program.

II. CONTENT

A. Subject Matter: Fundamental Skills: Locomotor and Non-Locomotor Movements

“#MoveOn” stands for Locomotor Movement
and “StayPut” stands for Non-Locomotor
Movement.
C. LESSON PROPER

At the end of the lesson, students are expected


to:
1. Classify a particular skill into locomotor and non-
locomotor movements.
2. Perform the locomotor and non-locomotor
movements; and
3. Appreciate the importance of movement skills in
our daily lives as healthy lifestyle program.

Now, let us define first what is the difference


between Locomotor and Non-locomotor
Movement.

Locomotor – came from two words “locos


which means place, and “motor” which means
movement. We are allow to move in one place
to another.

Non-Locomotor – wherein it allows us to move


The examples of Locomotor Movement are:

Walking – shifting of one’s weight from one


foot to other.

Running – moving with longer strides and at

The examples of Locomotor Movement are:

What are the example of Non - Locomotor 5. Swaying
movements?

Bending – moving the muscles around a joint


where two body parts meet.

Stretching – straightening or extending any


part of the body from the joints.

How we do these skills? Lifting – elevating a part of the body usually


the arms and legs.

Twisting – moving a part of the body around


a long axis.
(usually done for the head and body)

Swaying – moving perpendicularly above an


axis.

D. APPLICATION

Activity : Merge It Up
Direction: I will group you into 2 groups
compose of 5 members each. Perform a
dance exercise using the different skills
from locomotor and non-locomotor. Each
group will perform atleast 1-2 minutes. You
have 2 minutes to practice with your
groupmates. Then each group will be given
the time to perform. Yes, Ma’am!
