Course Objectives: The primary objective of this course is

• To define cloud computing and explain its essential characteristics, history, the business case for cloud, and emerging technologies enabled by cloud
• To understand Concepts and infrastructure of cloud computing and its business applications.
• To describe the cloud service (IaaS, Saas, Paas) & deployment models (Public, Private, Hybrid), and its infrastructure - VMs, Networking, Storage
• Create a Cloud account and work hands-on with Cloud services, such as Object Storage
• To understand the role and responsibilities of professional field, how to deal with ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities related to
cloud computing.

Cloud Computing Fundamental: Cloud computing definition, Characteristics of Cloud computing as per NSIT, private, public and
hybrid cloud. Cloud types; Iaas, Paas, Paas. Benefits and challenges of cloud computing; public vs private clouds, Client-Server
Computing, Cluster Computing, Grid Basics, Distributed Computing. Cloud Architecture and design principles and Cloud reference
architecture.

Module II Cloud Service Management and Economics 20%

Cloud Economics: Cloud Computing infrastructures available for implementing cloud based services. Economics of choosing a Cloud
platform for an organization, based on application requirements, economic constraints and business needs (e.g. Amazon, Microsoft and
Google, Salesforces.com, Ubuntu and Redhat). Cloud Services Management: Reliability, availability and security of services deployed
from cloud.
