Procedure for CHECKING UMS

EXTENSION ALARMS:

The following checks must be carried out:

Select duty engineer on alarm panel

Simulate engine room alarm and check it is sounding in the the cabin
If not accepted the alarm within specified minutes, alarm is extended to all engineers cabins

Testing Interval: Monthly
