EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

As of January 2024

On 09 January 2023, the newly installed MLGOO Reymel Valera initiated inspection/visit to
Barangay Cabasagan and Barangay Sibajay all of Boston, Davao Oriental. The said visit
initially pointed important programs, projects and activities that the Department is currently
implementing such as FDPP, VAWC, BBIs, KP, SGLGB and many more. Barangay Officials
warmly welcomed the officer marking a great start for collaborations and future partnerships.

On January 8, 2024, as part of their series of consultative conferences and barangay visits,
the DILG Davao Oriental Team, under the leadership of Provincial Director Orle A.
Cabaobao, alongside Acting Cluster Head Ma. Theresa A. Obatonon, MLGOO Benjamin S.
Velarde, MLGOO Reymel B. Valera, and LGMES Chief Mary Flor M. Ilog, visited the
Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) in Simulao, Caatihan, Cauwayanan, and
Poblacion within the Municipality of Boston, Davao Oriental.
The purpose of the visit was to provide essential reminders to the officials of these
barangays on several matters including compliance with the Barangay and SK Full
Disclosure Policy (B/SKFDP), reconstitution of Barangay Based Institutions (BBIs), approval
of the Barangay 2024 budget, and issues related to peace and order.

On January 11, 2024 during the Inaugural Session of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation
Presidents and Provincial President of Davao Oriental at Mati City.
The said session of the Sangguniang Kabataan Presidents is an excellent opportunity for
young individuals to come together, share ideas, and discuss strategies for addressing
various societal challenges. It's a platform where future leaders can collaborate, learn from
each other, and inspire positive change.

On January 12, 2024 during the Davao Oriental Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay Elections
at Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Dahican, Davao Oriental.

On 15 January 2024, the Municipal Liga ng mga Barangay Special Elections in the
Municipality of Boston was conducted and MLGOO Valera observed the said special
elections.

On January 16, 2024, leading the team is Mayor Rowell F. Rosit who personally with the
road operations team together with LDRRMO Mr. Henrey Allan Ragay Pagaduan and LGOO
V Reymel Valera to clear various mudslides and landslides along the stretch of National
Highway of Mangagoy-Boston-Cateel road.

On January 25, 2024, at the DILG LGRRC XI Conference Room in Matina, Davao City, the
DILG Davao Oriental Team, led by Provincial Director Orle A. Cabaobao, convened its first
Monthly Consultative Team Conference of the year.

The meeting was graced by the presence of ARD Abdullah V. Matalam and was also
attended by FAD Chief Gale Marie S. Gravador, LGOO VI Jessica L. Itil from LGMED, Ms.
Kristel Diane C. Tadtad from HRMO, LGOO III Carl John D. Mahinay, LGOO III Kathleen
Marjorie Cinco, and LGOO V Ana Mylene Bahandi from LGCDD. During the conference, the
guests discussed and provided updates on various deliverables/PPAs handled by their
respective divisions/sections.

On January 30, 2024, Mr. Leonardo Monte De Ramos, CSO Desk Officer of the Municipality
of Boston, Davao Oriental visited the office of the MLGOO to convey relevant information on
the current status of accredited CSOs, including significant projects and activities of their
office.

On February 1, 2024, The DILG-Boston in coordination with the MDRRMO, MEO and the
Mayor's Office conducted site inspections and assessment on critical infrastructures on its
area of jurisdiction. The Dakong Banwa Bridge in Sitio Babay, Barangay San Jose, Boston,
Davao Oriental is one critical infrastructure that needs urgent response from higher
concerned agencies. The bridge connects the Municipality to neighboring LGUs in Lingig
which is one of the gateways for the transportation of essential resources.

Also, on February 1, 2024, DILG-Boston spearheaded by MLGOO Valera coordinated with

all Punong Barangays in the AOR to activate 24/7 Operation Centers to prepare necessary
actions and in response to the ongoing effects of
trough of Low Pressure Area in the Municipality. The
MLGOO visited Sitio Lambog, Barangay Carmen
to coordinate with PB Evencio A. Butulan in
initiating bayanihan works to help the local
government workers in filing gabion walls in one
disaster affected sitio in his AOR and consider safety
at all times. The Punong Barangay positively
responded to the situation.

On February 02, 2024, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council
(MDRRMC) Convened for an emergency meeting to discuss important matters in response
to the observed effects of trough of Low Pressure Area (LPA) in the Municipality of Boston,
Davao Oriental. Headed by Hon. Mayor Rowell F. Rosit, the meeting was attended by Hon.
Vice Mayor John Paul Lampig, Heads of Offices in the LGU including those of the national
agencies and all Punong Barangays.
Highlight during the meeting is the proposed declaration of the Municipality under state of
calamity in which six (6) out of eight (8) barangays expressed their sentiments on the need
to declare their respective BLGUs under state of calamity.
MLGOO Valera enjoined all Punong Barangays to activate 24/7 Operation Centers and
establish an open line of communication with the MDRRMO and other concerned agencies.
He also emphasized the exigency of submission of updated reports on families and
individuals affected in their AORs to expedite the release of assistance from the local
government, national agencies and even from NGOs.

On the same day of February 02, 2024, the DILG-Boston in coordinarion with the Liga ng
mga Barangay Municipal Chapter Headed by Hon. Anebelle Rosit conducted a briefing at

the office of the MLGOO on the upcoming conduct of Barangay Newly Elected Officials
(BNEO) Towards GREAT Barangays Program.
MLGOO Valera discussed the rationale as well as the preparations needed for the said
activity.
Headed by the LnB President, Hon. Rosit, the members tentatively decided on their
preference in terms of venue and schedule.

Below is a consolidated report from eight (8) barangays of Municipality of Boston on the
monitoring of implementation of HAPAG sa Barangay Project. The data showed the status
and progress of barangays on the said project.
