CONVERSATION 01

Caller : I'd like to reserve a hotel room.

Staff : That should be no problem. May I have your full name, please?

Caller : My name is John Sandals.

Staff : Hello, Mr. Sandals. My name is Michelle. What days do you need that reservation, sir?

Caller : I'm planning to visit Ende from Friday, April 14 until Monday, April 17. Do you have one
standard room for me, please?

Staff : We still have 3 standard rooms for above dates, sir/madam. But Our room rates recently
went up. Is that okay with you, Mr. Sandals?

Caller : How much per night are we talking about?

Staff : Each night will be $308.

Caller : That price is perfectly acceptable.

Staff : Wonderful! Do you prefer a smoking or nonsmoking room?

Caller : Nonsmoking, please.

Staff : Next question: Is a queen-size bed okay?

Caller : That sounds fine.

Staff : Okay, Mr. Sandals. Your reservation is in our computer. All we need now is a phone
number.

Caller : Certainly. My phone number is 626-555-1739.

Staff : Thank you, Mr. Sandals. We look forward to seeing you in New York!

CONVERSATION 02

Caller : Hi there, I want to reserve a hotel room.

Staff : No problem at all. Could I have your full name, please?

Caller : Sure, John Sandals.


Staff : Hi, Mr. Sandals. I'm Michelle, at your service. When do you need the room?

Caller : My plans are to be there April 14th to the 17th.

Staff : We have new room rates, sir. Will that be acceptable to you?

Caller : It depends on the price, of course. What is it?

Staff : It's $308 a night for Napa Nua Standard room and $355 a night for Kelimutu Deluxe room.

Caller : I have no problem with that. Please book for me one Napa Nua Standard room!

Staff : Great! Would you prefer smoking or nonsmoking?

Caller : Definitely nonsmoking. I can't handle that smell.

Staff : Nonsmoking. Now, is a King-size bed okay?

Caller : No problem.

Staff : Great, Mr. Sandals. Your reservation is confirmed. Now all I need is your phone number.

Caller : Of course! It's area code 626-555-1739.

Caller : Thank you so much, Mr. Sandals. We look forward to seeing you!

CONVERSATION 03

Caller : I need to reserve a room.

Staff : Not a problem. May I have your name, please?

Caller : Of course. I'm John Sandals.

Staff : Hi, sir. My name is Michelle. Could you tell me when you need the room?

Caller : Right now. I plan to be there in April from the 14th to the 17th.

Staff : Perhaps you didn't know that we have new room rates. Do you find that acceptable, sir?

Caller : Maybe. How much is a room?

Staff : The price per night is $308 for Pati Ka Superior room.
Caller : That sounds fine to me.

Staff : Fantastic! Would you like a smoking or nonsmoking room?

Caller : I hate cigarettes! Nonsmoking.

Staff : That'll be nonsmoking. Now, do you approve of a single queen-size bed?

Caller : That'll be no problem.

Staff : I'm happy to hear that, sir. Your reservation is all set except for your phone number.

Caller : Sure! My number is 626-555-1739.

Staff : 626-555-1739. Thank you for doing business with us, Mr. Sandals.

CONVERSATION 04

Caller : I need a hotel room.

Staff : That's no problem at all. May I have your name, please?

Caller : Certainly. My name is John Sandals.

Staff : It's a pleasure, Mr. Sandals. My name is Michelle. What days will you need a room?

Caller : Friday afternoon, April 14 through Monday morning, April 17.

Staff : One minor problem, sir. Our prices are now slightly higher. Is that acceptable, sir?

Caller : Please tell me the price, so I can make a decision.

Staff : It'll be $308 nightly for a Deluxe room.

Caller : That's a reasonable price.

Staff : Good! Now, sir, do you have a preference for smoking or nonsmoking?

Caller : I quit smoking, so nonsmoking.

Staff : I hear you, sir. Nonsmoking. Now, about the bed, is a queen-size okay?
Caller : A queen sounds great.

Staff : Okay, sir, let me reserve those dates, there. Now, if you'll just tell me your phone number.

Caller : That would be 626-555-1739.

Staff : That's 626-555-1739. Thank you so much for choosing our hotel, sir!

CONVERSATION 05

Caller : I need a room for a few days.

Staff : That won't be a problem. Could you please tell me your name?

Caller : John Sandals. That's S A N D A L S.

Staff : Sir, I'm Michelle, and I run the front desk. Please tell me the days you'll be here.

Caller : I'll be there in April: Friday through Monday, the 14th through the 17th.

Staff : We recently changed many things here, sir, including our prices. Do you mind, sir?

Caller : Possibly. What's the actual price?

Staff: The price will be $308 a night for a Standard room.

Caller : $308! That's not bad.

Staff : Very good. Now, Mr. Sandals, about the room, smoking or nonsmoking?

Caller : Nonsmoking, definitely!

Staff : Most of our clients prefer nonsmoking. Now, does a queen sound okay?

Caller : Yes, that'll be just fine.

Staff : One more second, sir. Your reservation is now verified, so all I need is your phone number.

Caller : It's 626-555-1739.

Staff : Let me repeat that: 626-555-1739. Okay, sir, we look forward to seeing you in April!
