NCHU Exchange Student Program FactSheet
Exchange Student
Lab Exchange:
Program
This program offers incoming exchange students the opportunity to do research
under the professors’ instruction. We offer research related to many fields of
study.
Each student will be assigned a mentor professor for consultation during his/her
stay at NCHU. We welcome students who are interested in learning more about
Taiwan to join PAX/Lab Exchange and share their culture with us!
✓ Be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an
NCHU partner institution.
Eligibility ✓ Have successfully completed at least one year of study at home institution.
✓ Be nominated by the Office of International Affairs or equivalent office of the
home institution according to exchange agreements.
1. Tuition waiver (The fees of mandatory insurance and accommodation are
not included. Students need to pay both fees by themselves.)
2. Monthly stipend will be offered upon budget availability and qualification of

the partner university agreement.

Application
Student who apply fall semester (Sep. 2024 to Jan. ,2025): April 2, 2024
Nomination Deadline Student who apply spring semester (Feb. to Jun., 2025): October 15, 2024
*For Coordinator Applicant must have an official nomination from home institution to be eligible for
academic exchange program application at NCHU.
Student who apply fall semester (Sep., 2024 to Jan., 2025): April 6- April 20, 2024
Student who apply spring semester (Feb. to Jun., 2025): October 15 - October 31, 2024
Nominated Students:
Application Deadline
After confirming the nomination by partner institutions, we will provide online
* For Student
application instruction to nominated students by April 10 and October 15 for Fall and
Spring semester, respectively. Please complete online application at Office of
International Affairs at NCHU by these deadlines.
1. Application form (Students would need to download the application form from
their application accounts and finish the signatures.)
2. Official certificate of student status (must be Chinese or English copy)
3. Official academic transcripts (must be Chinese or English copy)
4. Two letters of recommendation

5. Plan of study (written in Chinese or English)
6. Biography (300 to 500 words, written in Chinese or English)
7. Certificate of proficiency in Chinese/English (optional)
8. Supplementary materials (optional)

Step 1: Go through the nomination process of the home institution. Partner institution
needs to fill out online nomination form before deadline.
Step 2: Nominated students must upload all required documents to application website
before deadline.
Step 3: Application will be reviewed, and final decision will be made by the University
Application Procedure Review Committee. Results will be announced by the end of June and mid-
December for Fall and Spring semester, respectively.
Step 4: Official admission package will be sent to program coordinator of partner
institutions.
Step 5: Admitted students need to confirm admission and provide arrival information
online if admission is accepted.

We will keep the information of PAX and Lab Exchange updated on our website.
Students need to pay for fees required for living in NCHU dormitory per semester
(about 5 months): Basic fees for one semester, including electricity, public cleaning,
etc. around NT$14,920/Male Dormitory (US$497) and NT$14,950/Female Dormitory
Accommodations (US$498).
* Please notice that Students will be located different dormitories every semester.
The price we provide is for your reference. The Division of Student Housing Service
will provide the updated prices.
Exchange students must have insurance while at NCHU. If you have overseas
emergency medical insurance from your own country, please bring it with you
(must be in English). If not, students must pay own insurance fee during
Insurance registration process. For more information, please visit HERE.
Based on the policy, exchange students with an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC),
who have resided in Taiwan for more than six months, are mandatory to enroll in
the National Health Insurance (NHI). For more information, please visit HERE
