3. In that assignment folder, there is Add submission button. That is where you upload your
test.
4. All file submissions must be in .PDF only.
5. The use of a non-programmable pocket calculator is permissible.
6. This is a closed book assessment.

seconds can you operate the total 500W (i.e., lights, the fridge, and the television), so that the

The heating element of a household electric kettle has a constant resistance of 26.45Ω and
applied voltage of 230V.
3.1. Calculate the time taken to raise the temperature of 1.7 liters of water from 25oC to
100oC, if only 87.5% of the power input to the kettle is usefully employed.
