BKAM3063 OPERATION AND PROJECT
MANAGEMENT
A232: FIRST SEMESTER (MARCH) 2023/2024

 In a group of 5-7 members (mixed ethnic group or gender) (WILL


DECIDE THE NUMBER OF GROUP MEMBER IN A SECOND WEEK)

 Not any groups can do the same project’s title, thus approval is given
based on “first come first serve” basis.

GROUP PROJECT 1: PROJECT INITIATION

Project Rules & Requirements

 You can propose of any project, but avoid new product development and
construction project which requires high technicalities. Developing new
service project is acceptable.

 The PID should be computer printed/softcopy* with these specifications:

 The PID should include the following items:

1.0 Executive Summary (answer why you prepare the PID);


2.0 Company’s profile (Name, address, main business,
organization chat etc.) (PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE EVENT
MANAGEMENT COMPANY);
3.0 Project Background;
4.0 Project Objectives and Desired Outcomes;
5.0 Project details (participants, venue, event etc.);
6.0 Project tentative;
7.0 Project Organizational Structure;
8.0 Project Team and Task Delegation (in table-form or
diagram);
9.0 Work Breakdown Structure;
10.0 Stakeholder List;
11.0 Assessment of market research (factors that trigger you to
run the project i.e. trend, location, phenomena etc.);
12.0 Project Risks;
13.0 Risk Mitigation Strategies;
14.0 Budget of the Project (clearly showing sources of fund +
sponsorship proposal);
15.0 Critical Path Analysis; and
16.0 Gantt Chart.

 The written PID SHOULD also include the following sections: TABLE OF
CONTENT (complete format with BOTTOM-CENTRALIZED page
number), REFERENCES and APPENDIX.

 Deadline to submit the written PID is on the 23rd MAY 2024 (THURSDAY)
before 0300pm:
Hardcopy : through the box outside lecturer’s room.
Softcopy : through the one drive link that will be provided.

 Please submit a hardcopy of Report Writing Rubric and Presentation


Rubric (DO NOT BIND WITH THE REPORT!) that content all the team
members detail (personal no, matric no, name, group no, title of the project
1 etc.) by inserting its in your hardcopy report.

GROUP PROJECT 2: OPERATION MANAGEMENT

Project Rules & Requirements

 You need to choose ONE (1) operation management topic/sub-topic


(Topic 6 – Topic 9).

 Review various articles that discussed on the current issue in the


implementation of the chosen operation management topic in the
SPECIFIC COMPANY during the post COVID 19 pandemic. You can
support your report and presentation with various other sources such as
interview, survey, report, newspaper, video etc.

 Submit your report in the form of conference paper format (based on


the conference paper template provided) with minimum 08 pages and
maximum 12 pages including cover page and references.

 Please take note that, the contents of your conference paper could be
in the following:
✓ Research paper - content Introduction, Literature review,
Research Methodology, Findings, Conclusion and
Recommendation as per research paper example provided.
✓ Conceptual paper – Flexible that depends on your contents.

 Deadline to submit your is report on the 27th JUNE 2024 (THURSDAY)


before 0300pm:
Softcopy : through Turnitin link that will be provided in the e-learning.

 Please submit a hardcopy of Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Rubric

 Please submit a hardcopy of individual presentation rubric that content


all the personal details (personal no, matric no, name, group no, title of

PROJECT 1 AND PROJECT 2 PRESENTATION

PROJECT 1

Each group must prepare a 07 minutes’ presentation video. Marks will be


given on the group basis. Thus, it is not necessary each of the team member
presenting in the video. Your group’s mark will be based mainly on the video
creativity.

 Date of submission (together with the Project 1 report):


23rd MAY 2024 (THURSDAY) before 0300pm:
Softcopy : through one drive link that will be provided.

 Again,please submit a hardcopy of Presentation Rubric that content all of


the team members details (personal no, matric no, name, group no, title
of the project 1 etc.) by inserting it in your hardcopy report.

PROJECT 2

 Each group must prepare the presentation slides (by using the Microsoft
Power Point or other presentation software).

 Each group must provide a printed copy of the presentation slides to the
lecturer during the presentation session (in class).

 Each group will be given at maximum of 7 minutes to present their


project. The Q&A session will be allowed for maximum of 3 minutes
immediately after the presentation.

 Date of presentation: 30th JUNE 2024 – 13th JULY 2024 (DURING


CLASS)

 Presentation marks will be determined by ‘peer-evaluation’ system.


Another group will be assigned to evaluate the other group. Individual
presentation rubric will be provided to another group prior the presentation
and collected after the presentation.

 Again, please submit a hardcopy of the individual presentation rubric that


content your personal details (personal no, matric no, name, group no, title
of the project 1 etc.).
