Grammar worksheet

Question :

(a) Rewrite the following sentences correctly according to the instructions given after each. Make
other changes that may be necessary , but do not change of each sentence:

(i) John has probably forgotten the date of the examination.


(ii) Very few countries are as large as India.
(iii) The sergeant asked :’Did you have any training before’?
(iv) If you don’t come, I will not go out.
(v) He sold has his house to a wealthy diamond magnate.

(b) Complete each of the blanks (1-5) using the appropriate form of the verb given in brackets:

The falcons were obviously in a heat of fury when the ravens ………….. (come) scouting along the
cliff .The falcons …………….(attempt) to drive away the ravens .The ravens ,however ,
……………………… (fly) unconcerned to and fro .Only at the last split second of each falcon’s drive
