Due to lack of sufficient knowledge of Grade 10 Junior
High School at Bucal National Integrated School in the
Philippine and local history, the Basa Kasaysayan (Balik-
Tanas sa Kasaysayan) Program is implemented. One of
the goals of the said program is to demonstrate a deeper
understanding of the Cavite Local History. Truly, it’s a
great challenge for the AP teachers but when you see that
the learners are learning, they become more creative and
passionate.

As part the daily lesson of the class, the learners are also improving their comprehension skills through
reading. They become more engaging and collaborative. The HOTS (high order thinking skills) of the
learners are developing. Most of the time, students ask questions that the teachers should be ready for
the answers. The teachers also prepare for some token of appreciation for the enthusiasts’ local history
readers which is part of their motivation.
BALIK-TANAW SA KASAYSAYAN
Teacher’s Daily Lesson Plan

As part of the Introductory Activities in the Daily Lesson Plan, the Basa
Kasaysayan (Balik-Tanaw sa Kasaysayan) has been part of it. At least three to
five local history of Cavite are introduced to the learners. Specifically, teachers
are researching daily topics to enhance the knowledge of the learners and make
them more creative and critical thinkers.
