Pedagogical  Literature should be read. Children under the age of 6 live in the
Notes present, physical, real world. They do not have the mental
sophistication to know real vs. not real. Everything that can be
seen, touched, heard is considered real.
 Need to find books about real things, real places, real people, real
activities. Try to avoid fantastical books or ones with animals
wearing clothes.

 When reading a book, read audience style, so all can see well. It is
best if books are read in small groups, but you can do with the
whole group, Have children sit audience style to hear the book.
Show the page briefly after you have read it. This gives the child a
chance to create their own pictures in their head. If little ones want
to get up and walk away, let them. Don’t stop to start conversations
or to answer questions.

 Read chapter books to the older children.

 Good literature for 3-6
