This file is on DEVELOPMENT OF LIFE SKILLS-I. In this subject we

will learn about how to develop life skills I our life to live happily. In

this we would learn about reading skills, time management which are

very important in our life.in this project we were generously by Dr.

Sambhu Saran Kumar, our Development Of Life Skills Teacher.


Development of life skills-i

Introduction to Development of Life Skills:

Life skills are the ability for adaptive and positive behavior that enables humans
to deal with the demands and challenges of Life.
This concept is also termed as PSYCOLOGICAL COMPETENCY. This subject
will refer to social norms, community, expectations etc. but, it will function for
well-being of human beings. It also gives us knowledge about speaking, listening,
reading skills, how to tackle different problems in life, confidence to facing
challenges etc.

Areas of Life Skills:


1). Decision making and problem solving.
2). Reading and writing skills.
3). Creative thinking and Critical thinking.
4). Interpersonal and communication skills.
5). Self awareness.
6). Assertiveness and self control.
7). Resistance and coping with emotion and stress.
8). Etiquette [in Hindi: “Sanskar”]
Life skills are often utilize to be a good human being with graceful life. In our
constantly changing environment, development of Life skills is an essential parts
of being able to make the challenges of everyday life.

DESCRIPTION OF SOME AREAS OF LIFE SKILLS:

1. Creative thinking and Critical thinking: This describes the ability the ability
to think in different and unusual ways about problems and find new solutions, or
generate new ideas, coupled with the ability to access information and understand
its relevance.
2. Self- Awareness: They descried understanding yourself and being able to feel
for to other people as if their experiences were happening to you.
3. Assertiveness or Self Control: These describe the skills needed to stand up for
yourself and the people and remain calm even in the face of considerable
provocation.
Ability to cope with problems which describes the ability to recover from
setbacks and set them as opportunities to learn or simply experiences.
4. Managing vocabulary: Even if you are a native English speaker you may
sometimes feel overwhelmed by the amount of unfamiliar vocabulary you of
course as a universely student you have great opportunity and need to build your
vocabulary .to resolve this keep a list of new words, record their definitions and
write example sentences for those words.
5. Time management: It one of the most important part of life skills. People
should do their work by managing the time.

Goal setting involves development of an action plan designed to

motivate and guide aperson or a group towards a goal.

S W O T ANALYSIS

SWOT analysis is the study undertaken by an organisations to identify


their strength and weaknesses as well as external oppurtunities and
threats. It is the framework for identifying and analyzing internal and
external factors that can have impact on the viability of a project,
product, place or function.

MEANING OF SWOT ANALYSIS.

EXAMPLE OF SWOT ANALYSIS:

SWOT

Strength(current): Hard working, honest, helpful, studious.

Weakness(current): Lack of confidence when dealing with people.

Oppurtunity (future): Gain experience of dealing with people, work in a

team.

Threats(future) : Being unsupported at work , transport problems.

OBJECTIVE OF LIFE SKILLS IN STUDENTS LIFE:

Students will be able to ;

2. Use techniques of acquisition of information from various notes

source .

3. Draw the notes from the text for better learning.

4. Develop assertive skills.

5. Develop good habits to overcome stress.

6. Face problem and challenges with confidence.

7. Apply technique for enhancing memory power.

9. Time management is necessary.

TO SET GOALS FOR PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

Setting goals is very important for a person’s personality development.

Goals should be specific i.e. our goals should focus on one particular

aspect of your personality development. Instead of saying “I want to be

successful”, we should focus to become a better person, better leader and

mindfulness.
SETTING

PERSONAL GOALS:

Setting personal development goals and creating a plan helps you to

take full advantage of any opportunity that may come to your way and

make the most of your potential. Self improvement is also a personal

development goal which leads to inner transformation. It is a self-

recognition study to improve ones character, status, or knowledge by

their own efforts.


Inter-personal skills is also an important aspect of personality
development goals:

The ability to communicate or interact well with other peoples known as

inter personal skills. These are strongly associated with emotional

intelligence, are attributes that are used to understand what motivates

people and how they use their knowledge to achieve best results in life.
KEY INTERPERSONAL SKILLS FOR STUDENTS.

1. Self-confidence.

2. Work ethic.

3. Relationship with team-mates.

4. Receptiveness to feedback.

5. Body language.

6. Listening to speaker.

7. Working in collaboration with peoples.

8. Showing appreciation.

9. Positive attitude and work place etiquette.

Why interpersonal skills is important?

Strong interpersonal skills can help us in job interviews process as


interviews look for applicants who can work well with other. They will
also help us insucceeding almost in any job by helping you understand
others and adjusting your approach to work together effectively.

Thereby, here we conclude that the subject DEVELOPMENT


OF LIFE SKILLS-I helped us a lot in shaping our life,
personality and many other skills. This gave us knowledge about
how to live life happily. This taught us about reading, speaking
being positive in life. We are thankful to all who helped us in
completing this file directly or indirectly.
