Microsoft PowerPoint:

PowerPoint is the presentation graphics software use to design dynamic and easy presentation. In
PowerPoint menu forms, styles and custom layout are used by working professional, academics,
students display data and information in a visual manner. Microsoft PowerPoint is a professional
presentation program that allow the user to create presentation Slide that can be display on the
computer screen or through a projector tat is plugged into the computer.

Features of MS PowerPoint:-

1. Create Dynamic Presentation We can create a dynamic presentation in PowerPoint. We can


deliver memorable ideas and made a immersive Presentations, and customize it for our audience.

2. Video Capability:- A user can add video clips in his/her presentation to make in more attractive.

3. Live Preview: This software allows a digital camera’s display screen to be used as a viewfinder.

4. Apply a consistent look and feel in on click

5. Sharing Allow you to share pictures and images. Also allow to share link.

6. Special Effects: This software have special effect present in it that can make your presentation
look cool not boring.

7. Automatically modify shapes, text and graphics with new tools and effects.

8.Reduce your document size.

9. Support other file formats such as audio, video etc.

10. Many different themes and can do quick styles.


Starting MS PowerPoint:
1. Click on the start button at the bottom of screen
2. Go to all programme
3. Select te MS Office
4. Select on MS Powerpoint

Parts of MS PowerPoint
Tab opens the Backstage view which basically allows you to manage the file settings in PowerPoint.
You can save presentations, eate new presentations based on blank or predefined templates. The
other file elated operations can also be executed from this view open existing ones and

Ribbon

PowerPoint Ribbon

The ribbon contains three components –

Tabs – They appear across the top of the Ribbon and contain groups of related commands. Home,
Insert, Page Layout are examples of ribbon tabs.

Groups – They organize related commands; each group name appears below the group on the
Ribbon. For example, a group of commands related to fonts or a grou of commands related to
alignment, etc.

Commands – Commands appear within each group as mentioned above.

Title Bar

This is the top section of the window. It shows the name of the file followed by the name of the
program which in this case is Microsoft PowerPoint.

Slide Area

This is the area where the actual slide is created and edited. You can add, edit a delete text, images,
shapes and multimedia in this section.

Help
The Help Icon can be used to get PowerPoint related help anytime you need Clicking on the “?”
opens the PowerPoint Help window where you have a list of common topics to browse from. You
can also search for specific topics from the search bar at the top.

Zoom Options

The zoom control lets you zoom in for a closer look at your text. The zoom control consists of a slider
that you can slide left or right to zoom in or out, you can click on the – and + buttons to increase or
decrease the zoom factor. The maximum zoor supported by PowerPoint is 400% and the 100% is
indicated by the mark in the middle.

Slide Views

The group of four buttons located to the left of the Zoom control, near the bottom of the screen, lets
you switch between PowerPoint views.

Normal Layout view – This displays page in normal view with the slide on the right and a list of
thumbnails to the left. This view allows you to edit individual slides and also rearrange them.

Side Sorter view This displays all the slides as a matrix The view only you to rearrange the slides but
not edit the contents of each de

Reading View-This view is like a slideshow with access to the Windows in case you need to switch
windows. However, like the slideshow you cannot edit anything in this view.

Notes Section

This sections allows you to add notes for the presentation. These notes will not be displayed on the
screen during the presentation; these are just quick reference for the presenter.

Quick Access Toolbar

The Quick Access Toolbar is located just under the ribbon. This toolbar offers a convenient place to
group the most commonly used commands in PowerPoint. Yo can customize this toolbar to suit your
needs.

Slide Tab

This section is available only in the Normal view. It displays all the slides in Sequence. You can add,
delete and reorder slides from this section.
Creating New Presentation:-

Powerpoint files are called presentation. A powerpoint presentation consist of one or more slides.
Where each slides can display text and graphic. Powerpoint offers different ways to create a
presentation.

a) Creating a Blank Presentation


i. In PowerPoint File Tab
ii. Click new
iii. Click blank presentation
iv. Then click create

b) To enter Title and Sub Title


i. Click on Add title section of the slide and enter the slide title

ii. Click on add subtitle section of the slide and enter the desired
c) Creating a Presentation using designed template:-
i. In PowerPoint click the file tab and then click new
ii. Under availed template to reuse a template that you have recently used click
recent template
1. Clip Art:- Clip Art is a collection of media files (images, videos, audio, and animation files)
that Microsoft includes with the PowerPoint application. If your computer has an Internet
connection, then you can also access it online.
2. Photo Album: This option enables you lines images and pictures you have saved in your
citrate in a group
3. Shapes: You add one or more shapes, you can add text, boillets, and numbering to them,
and you can change their fill, outline, and other effects on the Format tab
4. Charts: With this option you can add different type charts and graphes in your presentation.
5. Movie: With this option presention in the the insert tab you can add video or movie. Clips in
your presentation to make it more attravite and fun .
6. Sound: You can also add sound to your file with this option

Animation
You can animate the text, pictures, shapes, tables, SmartArt graphics, and other objects in your
PowerPoint presentation
Transition
Slide transitions are the animation-like effects that happen where one slide to the next during a
presentation. Add slide transition PowerPoint presentation to life. Select the slide you want to
ad Select the Transitions tab and choose a transition.

Slide show:
This allows to see your presentation by playing.
