PLAN
Time pm)

I. OBJECTIVES
The learners should be able to demonstrate an understanding of key
A. Content standards concepts of axiomatic structure of geometry and triangle congruence.
The learners should be able to be able to formulate an organized plan
to handle a real-life situation and to communicate mathematical
B. Performance Standards thinking with coherence and clarity in formulating, investigating,
analyzing, and solving real-life problems involving congruent triangles
using appropriate and accurate representations.

Focused skills
The learners should be able to solve corresponding parts of congruent
triangles (M8GE-IIIf-1)
C. Learning Competencies /
Specific skills
Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
a. Find the measurement of the missing parts of congruent
triangles.
b. Solve corresponding sides of congruent triangles
Values Integration EQUALIZED OPPORTUNITIES

II. CONTENT Solve corresponding parts of congruent triangles

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide pages Math 8, Quarter 3 Teachers’ Guide pgs. 8-9
Math 8, Quarter 3 Learners’ Module 4 pgs. 8-9
2. Learner’s Material pages
3. Textbook pages Exploring Math 8 pages 327-336
4. Additional Materials from
Learning Resource (LR) portal
B. Other Learning Resources Slide deck, laptop and TV
IV. PROCEDURE
Teacher’s Activity
Preliminaries
The teacher will ask a student to lead the prayer.

The teacher will ask the students to pick up the pieces of trash
under their chairs before they sit.

Greetings
The teacher will greet the students with a “Good morning” and
ask them how are they doing.
(Pre-Developmental)
A. Reviewing Previous Lesson or Checking of attendance
Presenting the New Lesson The teacher will ask the students who are absent for the
checking of attendance.

The teacher applauded the students for being all present for the
day.

Reviewing the previous lesson/Checking of assignment

The teacher will ask the students about their assignments, and this will
serve as a review for the previous lesson.
The teacher will start the lesson and present the objectives to the
class.
B. Establishing a purpose for the At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
lesson a. Find the measurement of the missing parts of congruent
triangles.
b. Solve the corresponding sides of congruent triangles
The teacher will ask the students to do an activity about the lesson.
The students are only given 5 minutes to finish the activity.

Activity 1: Find me!

Direction: Solve for y.

a. Given: ∆BAD≅ ∆BCD

CD = 16cm
C. Presenting
Find: y
Examples/Instances of the New
Lesson 16cm
y

Solution:

 Since CD ≅ AD ,
and CD=16 cm
then AD=16 cm
After the activity, the teacher will start to discuss the lesson, which is
all about solving corresponding parts of congruent triangles.

The teacher will give an example of finding the missing corresponding

sides of congruent triangles.

Example 1:

Given: ∆ABD≅ ∆ACD

Then, CD = 27cm
Find x

D. Discussing New Concepts and

Practicing New Skills #1

Solution:

 Since AB ≅ A C , then
3 x=27
3x () ()
1
3
=27
1
3
x=9

With the use of Multiplication Property of Equality, it is found that y is

equal to 9.
E. Discussing New Concepts and The teacher will present more examples for the students and provide
Practicing New Skills #2 examples that the students will answer on the board.
Example 2:

Given: ∆RED≅ ∆BUL

Then, ED = 30cm and UL= 6x
Find the value of x

Solution:

 Since ED ≅ UL, then

6 x=30
6x () ()
1
6
=30
1
6
x=5

F. Values Integration EQUALIZED OPPORTUNITIES

The teacher will ask the students to illustrate congruent triangles
following the measurement of the following:
G. Developing Mastery (Leads to
Formative Assessment 3)
1. First side= 30cm
(MAPEH INTEGRATION)
2nd side = 24cm
3rd sjde =15cm
The teacher will ask the students to give an example in which they
H. Finding Practical Application
encounter measurements of different infrastructures that can be seen
and Skills in Daily Living
in their surroundings.
I. Making Generalization and The teacher will ask the students the following questions:
Abstraction About the Lessons 1. How to find measurement of the missing side of a triangle?
The teacher will give a quiz to the students.

QUIZ:
Instruction: Illustrate the given congruent triangle and solve for its
corresponding sides.
J. Evaluating Learning 1. Given: ∆AMP≅ ∆PIT
Where MP∧¿=¿60cm
If PI = 5y
and, AM = 40cm
Find the value of y.

K. Additional Activities for Instruction: Make an advance reading about finding and solving
Application or Remediation corresponding sides and angles of congruent triangles.
