1. A small charge (q0 = 4.00 fC) is found in a uniform E-field (E = 5.50 cN/C). Determine the electric
force on the charge.
2. What is the magnitude and direction of the electric field 3.40 km to the right of a 20.0 MC
negative charge?
3. What is the magnitude of a point charge whose E-field at a distance of 5.00 dm is 5.0 mN/C?
4. A dipole is set up with a charge magnitude of 5x10-9 C for each charge (negative at left; positive
at the right). The distance between the charges is 0.25 m. What are the magnitude and direction
of the E-field at the midpoint of the dipole? Also determine the force magnitude and direction
for an electron at that position in the field.
5. A dipole is set up with a charge magnitude of 5x10-9 C for each charge (both are positive.) The
distance between the charges is 0.25 m. What are the magnitude and direction of the E-field at
the midpoint of the dipole? Also determine the force magnitude and direction for an electron at
that position in the field.
6. A dipole is set up with a charge magnitude of 5x 10−9C for each charge (one on the left is positive
and other is negative.) The distance between the charges is 0.50 mm. What are the magnitude
and direction of the E-field 0.20 mm to the right of the negative charge? Also determine the
force magnitude and direction for an electron at that position in the field.
