Pathway
Thriller Short Film

Project Title
Thriller Short Film FMP

Section 1: Rationale
(approx. 150 words) At the very start of this course I had little to no experience in the media
industry. Throughout last Year I developed skills in many different areas which
I have an interest in and also have a talent for. I have learnt how to use many
different softwares and how to operate cameras and recording equipment.
Last year I lacked photoshop and photography skills the most so that Is why I
chose to create a fashion magazine and also because fashion is an interest of
mine. For this final project I want to do a thriller short film because I remember
from when I was doing my short film I came up with a thriller idea that would
be good for a final project however last year I did a magazine as my
photography skills were lacking the most. However this year I have worked on
lots of photography and less video. So this is a perfect opportunity for me to
work on my video and editing skills to showcase the skills I have learnt
throughout the course through a thriller short film and posters.

Section 2: Project
Concept The project revolves around creating a thrilling short film and posters that
(approx. 200 words) immediately convey the genre and attract the viewer's curiosity. The storyline is
around a boy's disappearance in the woods, with his friend feeling guilt and
responsibility to find him. I am experimenting with shots and editing techniques
in Premiere Pro for visuals and audio. Additionally, gathering feedback through
questionnaires and focus groups which will help the project attend to the
audience preferences. I will make sure that I do detailed planning to ensure
smooth production. I will be using a DSLR camera for the creation of the poster
photography and an IPhone 13 for filming in high quality. The editing will be
done using Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Throughout the project I will get
Continuous audience feedback that guides the project's progression, while a
carefully managed timeline ensures completion on schedule, with extra effort if
needed to stay on track.

Section 3: Evaluation
(approx. 150 words) Throughout the progression through my final project I will be creating reflective
diaries explaining what I have done and the skills that I have improved, the
errors I came across and then also what I have learnt from doing that task. I
will have a mixture of text, audio and visual reflective diaries on my website.
Also taking photos whilst doing production work which will also be useful for
context for my evaluations and making notes of any changes that I have done
and evaluate why I did them. I will make sure that I am reflecting on the
objectives that I have achieved and they are analytical and they are not just a
description of what I have done.
