Others results:……………………………………………………………………………………..

2. Content: Before we perform the water baptism, I had the opportunity to share the Word of God
with the three recipients and some church members who were present. The exhortation was based
on Colossians chapter 3 and verse 1 to 3. The recipients were taught about our new position in
Christ, the significance of the water baptism and his implication in our Christian life.
Theme: Let’s Walk Like Citizen of Heaven
Bible verse: Colossians 3:1-3
Mains Points: Introduction
1) Our New Position in Christ
2) The Water Baptism: a Testimony of our New Position
3) The Implication of our New Position
Conclusion: Prayer for the New Baptized
3. Application: In the Independent Study Textbook, The Bible and The Church, Page 151 and 152,
Reverend Suwandoko and Doctor Duncan taught about two ceremonies clearly ordained in the
New Testament, the water baptism and the Lord’s Supper, called Church ordinances. Through the
course, I was able when exhorting the recipients, to explain to the recipients that the water
baptism “is symbolical, representing the believer’s identity with Christ Jesus in death-death to the
old life of sin-and resurrection-resurrection of spiritual life that enables one to walk in a new life
of victory in Christ”(Duncan and Suwandoko, IST, 151). The mode of the baptism that we
practice was immersion, as taught in the Independent Study Textbook (page 152). After the water
baptism, we moved ahead for the Lord’s Supper. Thus, this course was very helpful for me. It
helped me to better understand the concepts of water baptism and Lord’s Supper.
4. Reflection: What I learned from the assignment about:

a) Me: This assignment was an occasion for me to review the way I am walking with Christ.
Because I am identified with Jesus in his death and resurrection through the water baptism, I have to live
daily like Christ.

b) The Lord: When God want to use us to do something, He does not wait until we reach a
certain level of spiritual perfection before he calls us. He calls and enable us with the power of the Holy
Spirit to perform the task for Him.

c) The Ministry: Divine enablement is the most important key for a successful ministry. If I trust
God, He will enable me to do what He has called me to do.

d) Others: Believers need to understand the implication of their engagement in water baptism. To
be baptized means to get ready to live a new life and to surrender ourselves to the lordship of Jesus.

Time: State how much time spent in prayer: hours and preparation: hours for this assignment.

Evaluate your time: Time was insufficient. Need to spend more hours in prayers and preparation.
