Kennel Club of India Rules & Regulations & Bye Laws as may be amended & in force from time to time and I / We do hereby acknowledge the jurisdiction of the Committee of the Kennel Club of India as the
governing body for canine affairs in India and the Final Court of Appeal on all questions or disputes or complaints or reports of any kind whatsoever arising in respect of Registered Club, Dog Shows, Dog Trials,
Working Trials and Field Trials and of the Registration or Transfer of name of any Dog or dogs and of any transaction in respect of breeding or sale or pedigree of any dog or dogs, and I/ We hereby expressly
agree that the decision of the Committee upon any question or dispute or complaint or report shall be final and binding on me / us. The dog has not been previousloy registered in India.
I/ We hereby expressly agree that this dog shall not be registered with any other Kennel Club or entered or exhibited at any dog show i.e. orgainsed without KCI sanction or approval or judged by a person not
authorised by the KCI. In case this is done I / We expressly agree that the KCI cancel the registration of the dog and all other registrations held by me / us and have me / us debared from all KCI controlled activities.

NOTE: All the particulars required should be entered on the form. When any particulars cannot be given, the word “UNKONWN” must
be written. If the Registration Certificate is to be send by Reg. Post. please add Rs.90/- to your remittance.
 PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING NOTES VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE FILLING IN THIS FORM
1. This application for Registration - K.C.I. Form C/1 - should be used in the following case:
(i) For Registration of a SINGLE DOG from a litter [Reg. 12 (a)]
(ii) For Registration of a Dog whose breeding (Sire, Dam, Date of Birth etc) is not known partly or fully, A CERTIFICATE OF
OPINION in the prescribed form duly filled in and signed by the owner and by a judge whose name is on the panel of judges
of the K.C.I. of competent to judge the breed. A separate Application Form and a Certificate of Opinion with three Photos of
the dog must be submitted for each dog. (Reg. 11)
(iii) For Registration of a Dog imported from abroad, the following documents must accompany the application, if the dog is
registered abroad. Proof of landing and EXPORT PEDIGREE issued by the KENNEL CLUB of the country of export in original
which will be returned with a photostate copy of the same, which will be retained. A seperate application must be submitted
for each imported dog. The particulars required should be filled in on the form (See item 1 (a) & (b) below the column bred
in India or imported from, on reverse (Reg. 16).
(iv) Export pedigree was produced and ascertained with the concerned foreign club and found to be accurate and authentic.
(v) The dog was physically produced before an authorised KCI representative.
(vi) The dog’s microchip was scanned and verified and found to be correct.
(vii) The KCI has not invited the concerned dog into India or taken any part in the process of its import/entry into India and the
organisation does not bear any responsibility qua the dog imported except for certifying thd identity, breed, sex, pedigree,
origin, and owner of the dog.
(viii) The owner will have to produce a notarised affidavit with the signature of the authorised KCI representative who verified.
2. Registration Fee: (1) The fee for Registration of a dog Bred in India with unknown parentage is Rs. 1,000/-
(i) The FEE for REGISTRATION of a dog imported from abroad is Rs. 2500/- provided the document required under regulation
16 are submitted (see note 1 (iii) above.)
(ii) The FEE for REGISTRATION of a puppy - imported - whelp import within 60 days - Rs.1500/-
(iii) The FEE for REGISTRATION of a puppy - Imported - whelp import within 61 - 120 days - Rs.2000/-
(iv) The FEE for REGISTRATION of a puppy - Imported - whelp import within 121 - 180 days - Rs.3000/-
3. NAMING THE DOG - Before choosing the name for the dog previously registered, the owner is requested to note CAREFULLY
the following CONDITIONS & to give TWO ALTERNATIVE NAMES in addition to the first choice, so that in case the first name
applied is inadmissible the dog may be registered in one of the two alternative names given.
(i) A dog NEED NOT BE REGISTERED in its pet or house name or in the name by which it is called. The pet or house name
or the name to which the dog responds has no connection whatsoever with its REGISTERED NAME which should be used
in Pedigrees & other documents and when the dog is entered at a Dog Show or Dog Trial etc.
(ii) THE NAMES OF NOTABLE PERSONS, TITLES, KENNELS, COUNTRIES, LARGE TOWNS, COMMON NAMES, WELL
KNOWN DOGS ABROAD (or) NUMBERS IN FIGURES (or) WORDS SHOULD NOT BE SELECTED (Reg. 13(c)]
(iii) A name of names excluding a Registered prefix / affix shall not exceed TWENTY - FOUR letters except that in the case of
an imported dog registered abroad the same shall be registered in its original name [Reg. 13 (e) & (g).]
(iv) A word or words SHALL NOT be used in the name of MORE THAN ONE DOG unless the same is registered as a PREFIX
/ AFFIX [Reg. 13 (b)]. If the owner has already used a particulars word or words in the name of a dog registered by him
previously he cannot used the same word or words again unless he registers the word or words as his prefix / affix (Reg.
14). The main advantages of registering a word or words as a prefix/ affix are (a) it serves as an indication that the dog has
been bred and registered by a particular person (b) it cannot be used by any other person except by the registered owner
there of and (c) choosing names becomes more easy, (d) it should be noted that the dog name registered with the PREFIX
can not be changed.
(v) Application for Registration of PREFIX / AFFIX must be made in the prescribed form and the FEE for REGISTRATION of a
PREFIX / AFFIX is Rs.10,000/- and is for life.
4. The dog mentioned on reverse must be solely and unconditionally the property of the applicant and the DECLARATION must be
signed by him. In case of JOINT OWNERSHIP the names of all the owners must be given and the DECLARATION MUST BE
SIGNED BY ALL THE OWNERS.
5. THIS FORM DULY FILLED IN AND THE DECLARATION SIGNED WITH DATE SHOULD BE SENT ALONG WITH THE REQUISTE
FEE (see Note 2 above) by M.O. or D.D. (The M.O., Postal receipt should be attached to the Application Form for reference) to
