INTRODUCTION

❖A Sales Insight Dashboard is a powerful tool that provides real-time

visibility into sales metrics and performance. It aggregates data from
various sources, presenting it in an intuitive and interactive format,
often through charts and graphs.
❖ This allows sales managers and teams to monitor their sales pipeline,
track customer acquisition, and forecast future sales with greater
accuracy
Here’s a brief introduction to what a Sales Insight Dashboard
typically includes:
❖Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Metrics such as sales volume, revenue,
conversion rates, and average deal size are displayed to measure success.
❖Sales Pipeline: Visualization of the sales funnel, showing the stages of
deals from prospecting to closing.
❖Customer Data: Insights into customer behavior, preferences, and
engagement levels.
❖Forecasting: Predictive analytics to estimate future sales based on historical
data and trends.
❖Actionable Insights: The dashboard highlights areas that require attention,
allowing sales teams to make informed decisions quickly.
WHAT IS POWER BI ?

Power BI is a comprehensive suite of software services, applications, and

connectors designed by Microsoft. It seamlessly transforms disparate data
sources into coherent, visually immersive, and interactive insights. Whether
your data originates from an Excel spreadsheet, cloud-based repositories, or
on-premises hybrid data warehouses, Power BI enables you to:

Connect: Easily link to your data sources.

Visualize: Create compelling visual representations of your data.
Discover: Uncover critical insights.
Share: Collaborate by sharing your findings with colleagues or stakeholders.
WHAT IS SALES DASHBOARD?

❖A sales dashboard is a visual representation of sales-related data. It

condenses critical metrics into easy-to-understand charts and graphs.
❖Whether you’re a large corporation or a small e-commerce store, a
sales dashboard helps you review performance and plan future
strategies.
Demo Overview

• Sales Analytics Dashboard using Salesforce Data

• Power BI for office 365 as the technology platform
• Review the reference architecture with regards to SFDC
integration with power BI
• How to build sample metrics ?
• Demo Steps
Data Download-Power Query Integration
With Salesforce
• From Salesforce Objects
✓ Connects directly to the underlying object tables
✓ Displays a full list of all objects to which the user has access
✓ Users can choose one or more tables and import them into the
workbook

• From Salesforce Reports

✓ Connects using the reports API and lets users import reports built
in salesforce
✓ No connection to the underlying objects and rebuilding these
views on top
✓ User can combine their salesforce data with other relevant data
Data Model and Building Custom
Calculations
• Load data into worksheet using power query
• Use power queries to clean and transform the data
• Load data into “Data Model” or “Worksheet”(Data model
preferred while working thru large data sets
• Go to the data model view and join the tables appropriately
with the primary keys
• Create appropriate calculations / aggregations in the
calculation area of data model
• Use synonyms to create metadata, save the model and
publish to power BI site
Advantages :
1. At-a-Glance Visibility:
• Sales dashboards provide real-time insights into critical metrics.
• Instantly track sales progress, changing conditions, and performance without waiting for monthly reports
• Saves time by eliminating manual report creation.
2. Resource Efficiency:
• Dashboard reporting saves valuable time and resources.
• No need to log into systems or rely on IT personnel for individual reports.
• Updated results are readily available for each metric
3. Informed Decision Making:
• Immediate access to data enables swift decision-making.
• No delays in requesting data or waiting for reports.
• Easily share dashboard insights across teams
4. Performance Tracking:
• Monitor team or individual performance in near real-time.
• Employees improve performance when aware of ongoing monitoring.
• Set goals and measure progress effectively
5. Up-to-Date Progress Evaluation:
• Measure the impact of policy changes promptly.
• See effects in near real-time and adjust operations accordingly
Disadvantage :
1. Oversimplification:
• Dashboards can oversimplify complex data.
• Some nuances may be lost in the visual representation.
2. Potential Outdated Information:
• Dashboards display real-time data, but they may become outdated quickly.
• Relying solely on dashboards without periodic analysis can lead to missed insights
3. Technical Challenges:
• Setting up and maintaining dashboards may require coding expertise.
• Integration limitations with existing systems can pose challenges
