FINAL
INTERVIEW Getting ready :) Tell me about a time when you had to work under pressure to meet a tight deadline
I remember when I was working in a
warehouse during the Christmas season. We had very few team members, and there was a lot of pressure to stock the merchandise quickly because of the high volume received during that time. We couldn't afford to inconvenience customers with disorder, so I suggested organizing and dividing tasks with my colleagues. While I took care of some tasks, they handled others. This way, we managed to finish the work quickly, and the boss congratulated us. He was very pleased, as were the customers. Can you describe a situation where you demonstrated leadership skills?
Yes, in my high school, I had a group that didn't
get along very well. They always argued and had differences; it was a very complicated situation, and nobody could feel comfortable. So, I remember intervening and expressing my point of view respectfully and as neutrally as possible. I requested the opinion of all my classmates, so many of them agreed with me. I managed to get these people who had their differences to talk separately and resolve them quietly without involving the rest of the group. We managed to spend the last few months that we lived together as a group and enjoyed the success of having graduated. Tell me about a time when you had to overcome a significant challenge at work.
Yes, I believe that when I got my first job, I worked
at a clothing store. I didn't know the brand at all, nor its products, as I had never been a customer of the brand. That was quite a challenge; I had to search for information about the products in the days leading up to my first day of work. I asked several questions during the training, although it was somewhat brief. During the first few days, I asked questions to my colleagues, and with all the effort I put into learning, I managed to gain a lot of knowledge about the brand in just a few weeks. This enabled me to guide and advise customers excellently. I consider that there is nothing worse in customer service than not knowing what you are selling. Describe a situation where you had to resolve a conflict with a colleague or team member.
I remember one time in school when a friend who was
also a classmate got upset with me over something that was a complete misunderstanding. At that moment, we needed to finish a project that had been assigned to us. However, this person wasn't speaking to me, so I sought him out, asked him what was bothering him, and why he was acting that way. He expressed his feelings to me, and I also had the opportunity to explain mine and the situation. We managed to reach an agreement, both apologized as necessary. In that way, we could continue without any uncomfortable scenarios with the project, and we gave an excellent presentation with the rest of our group. Can you give me an example of a time when you had to adapt to a change in the work environment or project scope?
Yes, when I decided to enroll in a night school, I
was 15 years old, and everyone around me was adults, with children, older than me, and it was a drastic change. I didn't know if I would be able to adapt to them; however, I tried to be myself, my most authentic self, to get to know them, and they gradually accepted me. I made great friends, so much so that I think those were the best years of my life. Tell me about yourself
Thank u for having me here.
My name is Daniela, and I am 20 years old. I have 3 and a half months of experience in customer service, face-to-face, working in a warehouse and clothing store, during the Christmas season where purchases are excessive and customers desperately seek gifts and a variety of products. This allowed me to become a person who works well under pressure, capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously, with strong communication skills due to constant contact with customers. At the same time, I learned to be someone who can organize their time and solve any problem that may arise. I am excited about this opportunity because I know that here I can put these skills into practice and grow as a professional with the various opportunities that you offer to do so. I believe I have the necessary preparation to work in your company. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
-My major weakness is self-criticism. For
example, in a work environment, when I'm tackling an important task, I tend to believe that my performance isn't good enough, which affects my ability to appreciate my work and how others might appreciate it as well. Currently, I'm working on that, trying to focus more on the positives than the negatives things. My greatest strengths lie in adaptability, as I can face different challenges and environments. When tasked with a new or challenging assignment, I also excel in quick learning, based on researching and informing myself in the best possible way about the information I need to know in various required settings. Why are you interested in this job?
I feel that my experience in
Customer Service is sufficiently strong for this position. I have developed skills such as multitasking, handling pressure well, empathy, friendliness, communication skills, leadership, and problem-solving, which are essential for this role. I believe I can contribute to the company by making the customer experience truly exceptional. Additionally, I have noticed that there are opportunities for growth, such as courses, where I could develop and potentially take on roles with more responsibilities in the future. How do you handle stress and pressure? I recognize that stress and pressure in a work environment are inevitable; the world is always spinning and can be hectic at times. However, I believe it's most appropriate to take a few minutes, if necessary, to breathe, think calmly, and not act impulsively. I recall a situation in my first job where we had a lot of work during peak season, and stress was inevitable. Nevertheless, I tried to maintain a positive attitude and stay calm, focusing on thinking positively and continuing with my work. At the end of the day, the situation didn't affect me emotionally as much, which I find beneficial because our mood influences how we perform at work. What is your biggest achievement at work? It's not a professional achievement, as my experience is short. However, when I graduated from high school last year, for my final exams, I studied day and night, I exerted as much effort as possible, so that I achieved the highest grades in the class. Undoubtedly, something I am proud of. My family and friends felt very proud of me. How do you see yourself in five years? In five years, I see myself as someone who has grown significantly, having taken courses in the field of technology, leading to acquiring skills such as Cisco as it's something that piques my curiosity. I even would love to learn a third language. I see myself contributing to this company with all these new skills and where undoubtedly there is room to apply them. Always eager to learn about any interesting topic that captivates me. Why should we hire you? It seems to me that I have many of the qualities that you need in a Customer Service environment. It's always important to listen, understand, and be patient so that the customer always feels welcomed and valued as an important part of the company. I can contribute to providing an excellent customer experience and leaving an impeccable image of my work and the company itself, ensuring to always do my job to the best of my ability. Do you work better independently or as a part of a team? -Both options fit with me. On one hand, working independently allows me to focus deeply on my tasks, pay close attention, and be meticulous. In a team setting, I can benefit from different perspectives, readily identify and correct errors, complete tasks more quickly, and enjoy the camaraderie with my colleagues. For example, when I used to study on my own, I experienced all those benefits, but upon joining an academy, I gained the advantages I mentioned earlier. Both approaches have their merits, and I wouldn't hesitate to engage in either. What do you know about you company? - I know your company provides services to other large and recognized companies, has multiple branches around the world, and its main purpose is to maintain customer satisfaction by having motivated employees to perform their best What motivates you? -Being able to leave my mark wherever I go motivates me, to be remembered for everything I do, being a passionate and committed individual, always willing to learn and explore the world. While working at the clothing store, a lady approached me, and we had a very pleasant conversation while she shopped. When she left, she said goodbye, expressing gratitude. That was fulfilling; I'll never forget it, and I don't think she will either. Leaving a footprint and being authentic is something that motivates me. Can you walk me through you resume? Of course, here's the translation into English: Sure, I have experience in face-to-face customer service, first in a clothing store and secondly in a warehouse, where I tracked sales and had direct contact with customers on a daily basis. I assisted them, answered questions, addressed complaints, and often greeted them at the door with a positive attitude. I graduated from high school last year and consider myself a committed and responsible individual with sufficient knowledge in Customer Service. I possess qualities such as adaptability, effective communication, multitasking, and problem- solving skills that could be valuable for this position. Do you have any additional questions?
