Chapter IV presents the results of the investigation. The data needed for this
descriptive study were gathered using several data gathering instruments. To analyze the
data, the following test statistics were employed: frequency counts, percentage, mean,
20.0% of the respondents were aged 17 or below, and 8 or 80.0% of the respondents were
aged 18 or above. The data revealed that most of the respondents in this study were 18 or
older. The second table presents the demographic profile of the respondents according to
grade level. 3 or 30.0% of the respondents were in grade 11, and 7 or 70.0% of the
respondents were in grade 12. The data revealed that most of the respondents were 12th
grade students. The third table presents the demographic profile of the respondents
according to the number of hours worked. It shows that 1 or 10.0% of the respondents
work 4 hours per day, followed by 5 or 50.0% of the respondents who work 6 hours per
day, and lastly, 4 or 40.0% of the respondents work 8 hours per day. The data revealed
that most of the working students or respondents to this study work 6 hours per day.

Table 2 showed the mean and interpretation of the perception of the effects of being a
working student among selected senior high school students in Colegio de la Purisima
Concepcion. Results revealed that the perception of the senior high school student
towards the effects of being a working student among selected senior high school
academic performance in statement one is very affected; statement two is very affected;
statement number three is very affected; and lastly, statement four is very affected. The
interpretation of mental health in statement one is greatly affected, statement two is very
affected, statement three is greatly affected, and lastly, statement four is very affected.
The interpretation of experience in statement one is very affected, statement two is very
affected, statement three is greatly affected, and lastly, statement four is greatly affected.
The interpretation of time management in statement one is very affected, statement two is
moderately affected, statement three is greatly affected, and lastly, statement four is
moderately affected. Based on the overall result of academic performance, the overall
result of mental health is greatly affected, the overall result of experience is very affected,

between two variables measured on at least an interval scale. This was used to test the
significant effect between the demographic profile of the respondents and the effects of

Purisima Concepcion. Based from the result, it was found out that the significant values
or p-values of Age, Grade level and Number of hours worked (0.291, 0.427, 0.811,
respectively) are all greater than the level of significance (0.05). So, we accept the null
hypothesis. Thus, there is enough evidence to say that there is no significant effect
between the demographic profile of the respondents and the effects of being a working
