Read & React Press Break

This document provides instructions for running a Read & React press break offense. It describes 5 initial spots similar to a perimeter offense and rules for cutting to the basket or filling open spots as passes are made. Players are to cut to the midline beyond halfcourt rather than directly to the basket. The offense follows the standard Read & React rules of cutting if you pass and filling the next open spot. Frames are included to illustrate the player movement and ball movement over multiple passes.

Brief "Hook & Look"

- Cutter should "hook and look" in the m iddle of the cut. This is a standard R&R rule versus zones. Instead of going all the way through, cutter pauses in the soft center of the defense, hooks & looks towards the ballhandler, and then continues with his cut if he doesn't get the ball. - 2 m an fills the open perim eter spot closest to ball - 5 m an fills nex t open perim eter spot closest to the ball - Cutter fills out to the open perim eter spot.

Fram e 4
- 1 passes to 2 then basket cuts - 2 looks for im m ediate reversal to 5, or give & go back to cutter - 4 fills open perim eter spot closest to ball - 1 fills nex t open perim eter spot
