PROCESS QUESTIONS:
Answer the following based on the symposium we had today with 100-150 words for each
numbered item.
1. What are two of the most important points you remember from today's symposium.
The two key points that I've learned from the discussion are;
How does inclusive education come to life in the Philippines and how to handle students who are
struggling to find the right path.
First is how inclusive education come to life in the Philippines. Inclusive education has a big impact
interm in helping learners to be a better students. Inclusive education came to life in the Philippines
when DEpEd and UNESCO collaborated to find a better way to help students and it was agreed and
signed by the former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte on March 11, 2022. It was then implemented
right after. The second thing that I've learned from the discussions is how to handle misbehaving
students and help them to find the right path. There are a lot of factors why the students are
behaving that way. Some of them are your strategies and ways on how to handle the students or it
could be the students themselves. There are a lot of ways on how to help misbehaving students to
be a better students. First is to gather information why the students behaving that way and then do
an assessment that will help you to identify the strength and weaknesses of your students. With that
strategy you can now implement an effective ways to help your students to do better and to be
better itself.
2. What do you think is the most challenging part of handling a special education class? Give two
concrete examples.
When we say special education class, there's a lot of factors to be considered. Firstly is what kind of
special abilities that they possess for example deaf, mute, mental disorder and blind. With that you
can now proceed to give a solution on how to handle special education class. When we say deaf
person, they have this disability where they couldn't hear a thing. To be an effective teacher, you
need to make strategies and ways on how to help your students who are deaf and mute. One of the
most challenging obstacles that the teachers encounter to teach special education is the
commucation. We all know that in teaching, communication is a must so we need to provide
effective strategies to help students. One way to help and teach deaf and mute students is to make
visual aids where it is visible for them so that they can catch up to the other students. With this
strategy, we cannot just help the students, but also help ourselves to be more effective in teaching.
The other obstacles that the teachers encounter in teaching special education is to identify whether
the strategies that they used are effective or not. To be more accurate and help the teacher to
identify whether they are effective or not is just to assess there students and ask about something
that they discuss. If the students answer it correctly, then it is proven that the strategies if the
teachers are effective.
3. What is the difference in administering assessments to a special education class and the
mainstream (usual, ordinary) class?
The difference between administering assessment to a special education class and the mainstream
where classified as usual and ordinary class is the technique, strategies, ways, foundation if the
classroom and also the environment itself. Technique, strategies and ways are the most important
factors that will help students to grow. We all know that techniques, strategies and ways could be
different in terms of teaching, specifically when the teachers are teaching diverse students.
Foundation of the classroom, it will help the teachers to be more effective as a teacher. Special class
and the mainstream class must be different in terms of the foundation of the classroom since it
helps the students specifically in the special class to ease the pressure that they've felt. The
environment of the class, is really important to build a more harmonious class, build a strong
foundation within the classroom and last, helps a student to be more considerate with each other.
