Subject: Proposal to conduct a 2 day workshop on Human Computer Interaction Through Vision
at your university.

Robofission Labs Pvt Ltd is a company located in Bangalore that works on niche concepts and
technologies like Human Computer Interaction, Human Robot Interaction, Augmented Reality,
Android and Social Robotics. The vision of the company is to provide Science and Engineering
students a first hand feel of cutting edge technology and its applications and to motivate them to
do out of the box research and product development.

Human Computer Interaction Through Vision is a 2 day workshop which introduces students to
the world of gesture recognition and gesture controlled devices. Our vision algorithms can be
used to control the mouse, keyboard, internet, printer, email, images and videos, etc and play
racing games like road rash, F1, shooting games, boxing games etc using simple hand gestures.
The main aim of this workshop is to provide students with the knowledge of virtually controlled
devices using vision algorithms. The workshop will be an excellent foundation for those
interested in working on HCI projects and papers / pursuing higher studies in the field.

The proposed workshop will be conducted for 14 hours [4 sessions of 3.5 hours each], document
containing the session plans are in the following pages. They should provide a clear
understanding of the program outline. Incase you need any additional information at any point of
time, please feel free to contact me. Kindly review the proposal and revert back to us if you are

Our requirements for the workshop:
1. LCD projector and Microphone PA system.
2. One desktop for every 3-4 participants.
3. Matlab Software on every Windows XP system.
4. Permission to install software on all systems allotted for the workshop.
5. Preferably net access for all systems allotted for the workshops.
6. Instead of (2), (3), (4) & (5) participants can bring their own laptop with matlab and the
college can enable wifi privileges to the participants

Other details of the Workshop:


1. The workshop will be conducted in your college campus.
2. Post workshop training material will be given to all participants.
3. Workshop certificate will be issued upon the completion of the workshop.
4. For every 3-4 participants there will be a HCI kit given for the workshop.
5. The HCI kit is not take away.
6. The kit can be procured by paying Rs 500/- to Robofission after the workshop.
7. The workshop is open to students from all branches and there are no pre-requisites for
attending the workshop.

HCI kit contents –

1. Imported YUY2 camera from Zippys for motion detection applications


2. 2 OCR recognizable HD images. (Both hard & soft copy)
3. Camera drivers for Windows operating system.
4. Qplay Qcap software.
5. CD containing the codes, APIs, ppts and other post workshop training material.

Workshop fee: Rs 1200/- per head (Subjected for discussion)
