But, speaking of French… French in French is français. Français is a good word (mot) to know since you
know… you are now learning it.

So, how do you get started with français?

At FrenchPod101, we get you speaking and understanding French with bite-sized conversational lessons.

That means nice to meet you!

Now, since we have you (toi) here… we want to know:

• What’s your name?


• Quel est ton nom ?

To reply to that and introduce yourself, you (toi) would say…

• I’m (name).
• Je m’appelle.....

Oh, “je” is a new word (mot).

“je” is how you say “I” in français.

So, just stick your name in there.

By the way, in case you didn’t notice…

Now you know a whole bunch of mot and phrases.

1. Bonjour - Hello
2. français - French
3. écouter - To listen
4. parler - To speak
5. comprendre - To understand
6. lire - To read
7. Enchanté de vous rencontrer. - Nice to meet you
8. toi - You
9. je - I/me/myself
10. mot - word
11. Quel est ton nom ? - What’s your name?
12. Je m’appelle..... - I am (name).

Not bad for a quick 2-3 minute read, right?
