Materials: Scavenger hunt clue cards, paper, pens

Significance: Students will explore their school environment


to find real-life examples of quadratic functions.

Instructions:
1) Divide students into groups.
2) Provide each group with a set of clue cards that lead them
to different locations in the school.
3) At each location, students must identify and describe a real-
life scenario that can be represented by a quadratic function.
4) Students record their findings on paper.

Rubric:
- Correct identification and description: 5 pts
- Accurate representation of quadratic function: 5 pts

Assessment Questions:
1) Identify a real-life scenario that can be modeled by a
quadratic function.
2) Explain how the scenario can be represented using a
quadratic equation.
3) Provide an example of a quadratic function that represents

Task 1: Design a Roller Coaster

Materials: Paper, markers, rulers


Students will design a roller coaster that follows a quadratic
path. They will consider factors such as height, speed, and
design elements to create a thrilling yet safe ride.

Task 2: Analyzing Projectile Motion

Materials: Balls, measuring tape, stopwatch


Students will conduct an experiment to measure the height
and distance of a projectile's trajectory. They will analyze the
