# 3] Draw the profile of a cam operating a knife-edge follower (offset) from the following data:
a. The follower lifts through 40 mm during 60° rotation
b. The follower remains at rest for next 30° rotation of cam
c. The follower then descends to its original position during the 60° rotation of the cam
d. The follower remains at rest for the rest of revolution
e. The least radius of the cam is 50 mm
f. The motion during ascent and descent is uniform velocity
g. The axis of the follower is offset by 20 mm from the axis of the camshaft.
Determine the maximum velocity and acceleration of the follower during its ascent and descent, if the
cam rotates at 200 rpm.
# 4] Draw the profile of a cam operating a flat-faced follower (offset) same data as problem #3.
Determine the maximum velocity and acceleration of the follower during its ascent and descent, if the
cam rotates at 200 rpm.
# 5] Draw the profile of a cam operating with a roller follower of 22 mm diameter from the following
data:
a. The follower lifts through 40 mm during 60° rotation
b. The follower remains at rest for next 30° rotation of cam
c. The follower then descends to its original position during 60° rotation of the cam
d. The follower remains at rest for the rest of revolution
e. The least radius of the cam is 50 mm
f. The motion during ascent and descent is uniform velocity
g. The line of stroke of the follower passes through the axis of camshaft.
Determine the maximum velocity and acceleration of the follower during its ascent and descent, if the
cam rotates at 200 rpm.

# 6] Draw the profile of a cam operating with a roller follower (offset) of 18 mm diameter from the
following data:
a. The follower lifts through 40 mm during 60° rotation
b. The follower remains at rest for next 30° rotation of cam
c. The follower then descends to its original position during 60° rotation of the cam
d. The follower remains at rest for the rest of revolution
e. The least radius of the cam is 46 mm
f. The motion during ascent and descent is uniform velocity
g. The axis of the follower is offset by 20 mm from the axis of the cam shaft.
Determine the maximum velocity and acceleration of the follower during its ascent and descent, if the
cam rotates at 200 rpm.
UNIFORM ACCELERATION
# 7] Draw the profile of a cam operating a knife-edge follower from the following data:
a. The follower lifts through 40 mm during 100° rotation
b. The follower remains at rest for next 80° rotation of cam
c. The follower then descends to its original position during 90° rotation of the cam
d. The follower remains at rest for the rest of revolution
e. The least radius of the cam is 50 mm
f. The motion during ascent and descent is uniform acceleration
g. The line of stroke of the follower passes through the axis of camshaft.
Determine the maximum velocity and acceleration of the follower during its ascent and descent, if the
cam rotates at 200 rpm.
