Rationale
Guidance service is assistance given to students in school in order to increase the quality of the individual’s potentials. School guidance program provides an
array of services that cater for the developmental and career development needs of these students. This career guidance program helps students become more
aware of career options and explore their interests. One of the key components of successful career guidance and counselling program is a planned sequence of
activities and experiences to achieve specific competencies such as self-appraisal, decision making, goal setting, and career planning. Different approaches to
deliver the program are needed such as counselling, assessment, consultation, placement, referral, research and evaluation and other necessary activities. The
analysis was carried out on career information search, career exploration and assessment to match self and ideal environment.
The Program will serve as the guide of the guidance department in implementing activities that will help students discover and be on the right track in building
their future.
VISION
The vision of Lapasan National High School is to ensure that all students understand and embrace their own value. As 21st century learners, they will be
equipped for the challenges, responsibilities, and contributions of their global generation.
MISSION
The school guidance and counseling program mission is to facilitate each student’s personal, social, academic, and career development, to prepare them for
college and career success.
Beliefs/ Assumptions
All students:
Have the ability to understand themselves and their respective environment so that they can grow in self-direction toward the attainment of greater personal
satisfaction and adjustment in light of accepted social and moral values.
Can development as a whole person, more specifically in their spiritual, emotional, intellectual and social growth, so that they may respond accordingly to
their environment.
The school counselling program:
Helps the students make maximum use of educational opportunities that will enable them to develop their potentials and become effective and productive
members of society.
Assist students in making the most of their talents and in correcting or compensating for the weakness that interfere with their progress and development.
Provides important benefits to individual students by addressing their intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and psychological needs.
School counsellors:
Listen to student’s concerns about academic, emotional, or social problems.
Facilitate the growth and well-being of each student and to provide interventions of conflict and problem resolution.
