4.4 CONTROLLING

Controlling is the process of measuring and adjusting performance to ensure that

business goals and the strategies developed to achieve them are met. It assists

managers in assessing the degree to which an organization has met its objectives and

16
in implementing any necessary remedial measures to sustain and enhance

performance. These are a few typical forms of control found at Annyeong Cafe:

4.4.1 Feedforward control

In order to make sure that the organization's inputs human, material, and financial

meet the requirements required for the transformation process. The reason

feedforward controls are preferred is that they enable management to avert issues

before they arise, saving time and money on remediation. It might be challenging to

develop the timely and reliable information needed for these controls. Other names

for feedforward control include pre control, steering control, preventive control, and

preparatory control. As for Annyeong Cafe, the management itself has chosen the best

suppliers which can be trusted to supply quality materials. Other than that, Annyeong

Cafe's management also ensures that employees have the necessary skills and

knowledge to meet the organization’s standards.

4.4.2 Concurrent control

Concurrent control occurs during the course of an activity. In order to guarantee that

continuing transformational operations adhere to organizational norms, it entails

regulating them. The purpose of concurrent control is to guarantee that worker actions

result in the intended outcomes. This type of control necessitates a detailed

comprehension of the particular actions involved and how they relate to the intended

outcome since it regulates current tasks. Because it sometimes involves checkpoints

where decisions are made about whether to continue progressing, take remedial

action, or halt work entirely on products or services, concurrent control is also

commonly referred to as screening or yes-no control. Annyeong Cafe focuses on

communication channels because effective communication between team members,

17
managers and relevant stakeholders can ensure that information about ongoing

activity is conveyed in a timely manner. Therefore, it can help Annyeong Cafe’s

business run smoothly.

4.4.3 Feedback control

These controls concentrate on the products that the organisations produce once the

transformation process is over. Often referred to as output control or post-action

control, it serves a number of crucial purposes, particularly in situations where

feedforward and concurrent controls are impractical or prohibitively expensive. This

kind of supervision is crucial for evaluating performance, spotting standards

violations, and making the required corrections for enhancement. Annyeong Cafe

utilizes several aspects of feedback control to prevent fraudulent activity. Data

collection and analysis are employed to gather data and related information about the

results of completed activities. This data analysis is used to identify trends, patterns,

and areas for improvement. Annyeong Cafe also applies the aspect of deviation

detection, helping to identify any deviations or variances between actual performance

and the desired standards. This involves comparing the results achieved with the

initial plans or expectations. By incorporating these elements into the feedback

control system, Annyeong Cafe can leverage insights gained from past activities to

continually improve performance, enhance processes, and adapt the business to

changing conditions. This iterative process of feedback and adjustment contributes to

the cafe’s resilience and competitiveness

18
