ST.XAVIER’S SR.

SCHOOL,BALRAMPUR
Bibliophile week- 22/04/024 to 27/04/024

INVITATION.

As we know, reading habits increase our vocabulary and knowledge. It is the

habit of reading alone that helps us articulates what we want to say or
express. By reading & listening to books, we acquire knowledge, which
makes us talk more and think differently, which in turn helps us form
relationships with others. Reading is a brainstorming exercise. It compels us
to think, it gives birth to thoughts. It is a way to understand the world around
us. By reading books, we discover facts and information. It is literature;
sometimes it may be a novel, plays, short stories, poems, fiction, biography or
write-ups shapes our personality, our way of thinking, and our expression.
This habit makes us ready for or prepares us to face the challenges of this
changing world.
It is very imperative to develop reading habits from the very beginning of our
studies. Our behaviour, our attitude, our confidence, and our style all need
exposure and grooming. It comes when we remain in touch with books or
literature.
By reading, we start respecting our literature, culture, heritage, customs,
traditions, and people. We come to understand other people's characters,
feelings, and understandings. We acquire experience and exposure.
The habit improves our self-discipline and consistency, and this habit allows
us to develop a perspective. As a result of knowing our glorious past and
history through reading, we have a distinct personality, which is what makes
us who we are. It helps in grooming our personality and sense of humour,
which is very significant. It inspires and reduces stress. It helps in revealing
the world. Reading literature broadens our vision. Keeping all things in mind,
we are going to motivate our children by celebrating Bibliophile Week, which
starts from 22/04/024. In the coming week, we will appreciate the reading
habits of our students. We will showcase their talent for telling stories, fiction,
explanations, narrations, and descriptions. Every day, we would like to
showcase new skills in reading. It is all done for our children’s brain-storming
and personality grooming, to bring them back from the internet to the world of
books and literature. This week is to pay tribute to one of the best literary
giants, William Shakespeare. Bibliophile week at Xavier’s can also be called a
celebration of books in our lives.
