Note: Kindly leave the question if it isn’t applicable or you don’t feel comfortable is

answering it.

General Questions about the communication within your organization:

1. Kindly tell me about the predominant communication mechanism used in your

organization. (flow, chain of command, and span of control)
2. What is your company’s major philosophy of work, and any interesting facts that you
would like to share? (Mission statement, if it’s okay to share)
3. Total Operating Budget? (Only of your department if not the whole)

Questions which need to be addressed specifically:

1) In order to learn, and get an inspiration, can I get a copy of your résumé or short run-
down of your job history? It will help me to polish my own resume.

2) Is writing/typing a major part of your job and did you prepare for it during your education
through coaching centers, college, workshops and/or trainings?
3) What is the most challenging thing about the writing that you do and what is the best way
to prepare for coping up with these challenges in your perspective?
4) To what extent do you rely on the forms of communication used in your organization and
can you share an experience, if any, where you received unclear written instructions from
someone above you in the hierarchy?
5) Do you read? If so, then how much time do you spend in reading for work
6) How did you locate your current position (Network, etc.) and how did you prepare for
your job interview?
7) Briefly describe your job (current position, areas of responsibility and skills that help the
most)
8) Is your undergraduate degree related to your current position and are there any skills that
would help you advance your career that you believe need improvement?
9) Which approaches do you use to build positive relationships with colleagues?
10) How often are you evaluated in your position and how are you evaluated?
11) How much crisis management is involved in your work/writing and what techniques do
you use to “think out of the box”?

Kindly attach four to five writing samples, which you consider are representative samples
of the work required in your position. (If possible)

Is there any advice that you would like to give me based on your personal experiences, as
they would really help me grow professionally.

Thank you
