Defects of The Tire Extruder

The document discusses various defects that can occur during the tire extrusion process, including machine setup issues, line stops, cushion layer defects, feed jams, lumpy or scorched extruded product, contamination, cracks, die cuts, air bubbles, improper weights, joint issues between compounds, engineering specification deviations, and abruptly truncated extruded material. It provides explanations and examples of each defect and recommends potential solutions to control the defects.

Defects of the Tire Extruder

Amazing shapes for tires are given by squeezing rubber. It is called an extruder, which is very important for the tire manufacturing process. But even the best
machines can sometimes go haywire, meaning Defects occur. This means the problem could be in the compound, extruder, or extruded sidewall, tread. These
problems can make tires unsafe, so factories work hard to stop them. They use fancy controls, special molds, and lots of testing to keep those tires strong and
reliable.

The types of defects, their details and how they can be controlled are discussed in detail below.
